Has anyone tried this with Doc Martin soles?

Yes. It seems to stick wonderfully to the sole material used in Doc Martens. My sole had split along almost the entire side of the boot. I filled the gap with this adhesive, clamped it together with zip ties around the boot, wiped away the excess, and let it cure for a day. It bonded really well, so much so that I went at it pretty aggressively with a pick and wasn't able to damage it. I'd previously tried another shoe adhesive and even with 3 days of curing, I was able to peal that off with my fingernails.

I have a tear in my rain boots, not in the sole, will aquaseal fix that rip on the top of my boot? if so, What type of aquaseal should I purchase?

I think only GEAR AID Shoe Repair Glue knows this answer. John used it to attach his shoe sole to the top leather on his shoe. Hope this is some help.

Is it suitable for gluing PVC?

Possibly,but you should use PVC cement which is made for that application
