OPI does not perform animal testing, and does not contract to have others do it on our behalf. When live testing is necessary, we use paid, informed, human volunteers -- not animals. This has always been OPI policy since our founding in 1981. However, the gel line is not entirely free of animal ingredients. A few shades contain an insect derived red pigment, called Carmine, international color index CI 75470. So, not all shades are vegan.
