Excellent small humidifier
Works excellently without problem. I find it very easy to fill up and empty and it runs silently. The top of the tank is rounded so it doesn't sit flat when you turn it upside down to fill it, but I set the top inside the kitchen sink drain and it fits perfectly and stays put. Alternatively you could place it in a bowl or pot to keep it still while it fills if you don't want to hold on to it. It emits a very fine cool mist that looks like white smoke which is interesting to watch. I've received several compliments from coworkers about how stylish it looks. It lasts a fairly long time on one tank of water depending on how high you turn it up; I use it five days a week at the office turned up about half way or slightly higher and it usually makes it until midday Wednesday or Thursday on one tank. You can twist the spout to point the mist in different directions. It will automatically shut off when it runs out of water which I appreciate for safety reasons and there is a tiny light in the base that turns red when the water level is too low and green when it is fine. There are demineralization filter cartridges available separately if desired and I like that it is available in different colours. This is the quietest and most attractive humidifier I have ever had and I think the price is very decent. I would highly recommend this device for those looking for a small space humidifier. I have been using mine five days a week for nearly a year and a half and it is still working perfectly for me.

Great water output, but difficult to maintain.
I've had the humidifier for a little over a month now. Although I initially loved it, I've since stopped using it due to the difficulty associated with maintaining it. Pros: - Item arrived promptly and in a well-protected package. - The humidifier has a really great water output, and produces a thick, visible stream of mist -- even on the lower settings! - Despite the heavy water output, it's incredibly efficient. On a low-to-mid setting, it lasts for nearly a full 24 hours of continuous use. - Very quiet! Advertised as "whisper-quiet" and is indeed so. Cons: - Once it runs out, it's a bit of a pain to refill. Contrary to common sense, you can't simply remove the top spout and pour water down the top. Rather, you have to remove the spout, remove the water tank, turn it upside down, and fill it that way. Very counter-intuitive, and a bit of a chore. Getting water all over the place while doing so is unavoidable. - Cleaning is a pain. The bottom of the humidifier (i.e. the part that has the controls, etc.) is undetachable from the power cord, so you need to unplug the device from the wall every time you want to empty it out. This becomes especially difficult during cleaning when it's filled to the brim with water and vinegar. For someone wanting to keep the chord neatly tucked away thinking that you will never need to access it, this may not be the best option. - There is a small light that is constantly on whenever the humidifier is running. When it's full, the light is green, and when it's empty, the light is red. (Unless you turn the entire device off, both the light and the unit remain on even when the tank is empty.) It's a fairly bright light, and there is virtually no way to cover it up as it is located inside of the tank. - In order to be used effectively, the device needs to be elevated (i.e. cannot simply be placed on the floor). Despite it's flaws, it remains the best humidifier I have ever owned. For someone willing to invest the time into constant care (i.e. not bothered by the difficulty of doing so), it's definitely something I would recommend. For someone looking for a low-maintenance device, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Quiet!
As someone who can't have any noises at night, this product is absolutely fantastic! It's whisper quiet and the only time I hear a peep beyond the faint faint sound of it running is the occasional *GLUG* when more water falls into the bottom reservoir. It's a really unique design where you actually fill the cone (top of the teardrop) with water by turning it upside down and unscrewing the cap. There's a hole through the cone center and I was sure that it was going to leak somehow while I was filling it, but it was fine. This hold is where the mist is forced upwards when the cone is placed back into the machine and turned on. Seems like a durable item, despite being made all of plastic. My only fear is that the cone which holds the water will have seams that leak over time, but so far so good. The max setting is powerful, and I often keep it just on medium and it does the trick just fine. My room is appox 9 x 15 ft and it does a great job making it more comfortable to sleep (even with the door open). Since I've been using the product, I sleep better and haven't had any blood in my nose in the morning (problem i've dealt with for years). Fantastic product.

Buyer Beware - Poor Quality
After doing some research on product reviews, I ended up purchasing this for a small bedroom. Works great, as the numerous product reviews indicated. With maximum output I end up filling the water in the morning and before nighttime. I also own an Air O Swiss 7145 unit for the main living area which I have been using for two years which also works great for a larger living area. Update: After close to 2 weeks of operation as per the instruction manual, the unit no longer emitted mist. I have requested a replacement and will add an update in the future. Hopefully the unit I received is a dud and the replacement will stand up to continuous use. Due to the defective unit, I have changed my rating from 5 to 3 stars. Stay tuned for a future update... Update 2: The replacement unit unfortunately had the same issue and only operated less than a week. After reading recent reviews of others having the same issue I have come to the conclusion that this humidifier is of poor quality. I also saw that there was a recent increase in price in early 2016 which is definitely not justified. The second unit will be returned and I will be looking into purchasing an additional Air O Swiss unit for the quality. I have therefore, changed my rating again from 3 to 1 star since the product simply does not work.

Really nice!
Here's my skinny. It's really pretty good. Very quiet. Yes, there is a small high pitch whine, but only if you're real up close; and I would not recommend having any humidifier up that close. I don't think it's that good for you. It's super quiet (I'm noise sensitive). An occasional gurgle but not enough to bother me (they all do it). I have the humidity set for just enough to see a steady stream. About 1/2 way? I live In a cold house with a supplemental oil enclosed electric radiator to warm up my bedroom. Cold mist makes it feel colder. This unit is really adjustable! I can set it just enough to give me humidity without making me cold. Here's the lowdown from my pediatrician 20 years ago to today, add 1/4 tsp bleach to Your tank when you fill it. No germs, no bacteria, And no CLEANUP! The bleach is so minimal, It does you (babies too) no harm. Google it. Bleach is the most harmless, oldest, easiest, and cheapest form of water purification. I have done this for 20 years with my children with never a problem. Just rinse and swish, a 1/4 teaspoon of bleach and refill the tank. You're good to go. All humidifiers get some discoloration over time; A slight yellowish tinge on the floater, it's no big deal. Doesn't harm you, doesn't affect performance. It runs about 36+- hrs on one tank at about Halfway. I line up the dots on the button with the up icon on the front, that way I remember the setting and it 's enough humidity for me. I use regular tap water, it refills and cleans nicely from my bathroom sink. The sink holds it and I just hold it a little to fit under the running tap. Yes, it drips a little when you remove it from the base, but so did my old one (another brand). I don't know, big deal. Wipey, wipey with a cloth, so what. I really think people just want everything to be so effortless. So it's not, really! Is everything supposed to be perfect, come on. The teardrop shape is nice, but yeah it is a bit tricky to carry. But that's the tradeoff for the pleasing shape. Kind of a partially functional handle. If that's your sticking point, easy carry, then this might not be for you. Personally, so far, the pro's outweigh the con's. Price is good. Shipping was fast. How long will it last? Who knows? A long time, I hope. I'm really happy with this product so far. Update: Dec. 2016 I've always packed it carefully in original box in a box. Unpacked it this year, set it up, dead as a doornail. Nothing, nada, zippo. I think it's the knob, no reassuring click, no light. Tried another outlet, nothing. I guess 5 years and that's it. I bought the same color but the new 5301W Model. It works but much cheaper build overall inside and out! Kept the old one for spare tank and top. But I probably won't be able to use them. They really changed it. Design wise, cheaper lighter plastic and maybe a bit smaller. Idk why they messed with it, it was great. This ones works, its quiet, just not as sturdy. We'll see how long it lasts๐ค
