Yale Locks YALY600120 120 mm Combination Locking Bolt

Great product, recommended

Bought a batch of these as a quick solution to locking upstairs rooms when we are out of the house and carers etc are working downstairs with an elderly relatiive. Fairly easy to fit for anyone with a drill and a basic toolkit. I chose these especially for their looks as the rival brands look like shed bolts. These are elegant and unobtrusive. Only reservation I have is that when fitted tightly to our (cheap) doors the outer metal housing and internal plastic housing clamp together too tightly and jam the bolt. I had to loosen mine to allow the bolt to slide properly and apply some generous lubrication using lithium grease and silicon spray. I would recommend testing the bolt for free movement before locking the door for the first time, in case you find the bolt is jammed and you can't open the door.

This is a solid and well made bolt, however although it was identical to the one my son has (which we assumed this was) but it was twice the size and much too big for the gate we wanted to fix it to, so we had to return it as it was too big and heavy for our purpose, so we received a refund from the seller.

I'm using this lock to secure my high garden gate for security, yet whilst still allowing the window cleaner access. As yet, it's standing up to the weather (will come back and amend this review if it changes). Looks really nice and feels heavy/quality.

This should be a lot better than it is. Yale cannot be proud of it. The designer prioritised form over function. It looks a lot better than it's competitors for sure. It is sleek and smooth. Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well. As mentioned by another reviewer, if you tighten the bolts too much it squeezes the guts and it jams. After a short while the numbers stick and won't turn. Because of light reflection on the numbers you have to crouch to see the combination. The smooth thumb slide is too smooth to give much purchase, and so it can be hard to open or shut. The instructions contain an error in drill sizes ... All of this was avoidable. Are these really Yale? Update: a few months on into winter and the lock is almost unusable. I have loaded it with oil, greased what can be greased, loosened the bolts to free up the insides, said nice things to it ... The result is that I would remove the 1-star that I gave. Personally, however much better this looks than the opposition, you avoid it. I will soon have some redundant holes in my shed door :-(

Strong, easy to fit, good quality

Good but becomes incredibly stiff in cold weather not ideal for outdoor use.

Previous reviews have highlighted the shortcomings of this bolt and I've experienced all of them. Having fitted the lock it became very stiff due to the mounting pressure on the backplate. Needed a hammer to open again!! The handle does not allow enough grip (too low profile) to overcome the stiffness. This has to be installed upside down for a left hung gate (unprofessional looking) and makes reading the code harder. The numbers are anyway difficult to read at the best of times (bad design) but in dim light impossible. In summary unusable and not up to the expected quality from Yale. Looks good but not if you have to fit it upside down. So removed and now have mounting marks on the gate! Disappointed.

Als wir dieses Produkt entdeckt haben, waren wir auf Anhieb begeistert! Der Einbau lief problemlos und die Qualität ist hervorragend. Offenbar setzen deutsche Hersteller nicht auf solche Produkte. Zum Glück gibt es auch andere Hersteller!

Tolles Schloss für unsere Garten-Pforte. Wirkt hochwertig. Montage war einfach.

Das "Yale Kombinationsbolzen 150 mm lang , Riegeldurchmesser 14 mm [Energieklasse A]" ist wirklich eine schwere Ausführung. Die Montage ist sehr einfach, da Montagematerial mit beigefügt ist. Wenn man es ordentlich angebracht hat, funktioniert es einwandfrei. Die Zahlenkombination lässt sich ohne Probleme einstellen und der Verriegelungshebel sauber in beide Richtungen verschieben. Setzt man die größere Komponente an die zu öffnende Tür, hat man am Yale zusätzlich einen Haken zum Öffnen dieser. Somit entfällt ein zusätzlicher Kauf von Türgriff oder -knauf. Durch die mitgelieferten Schloßschrauben wird Unbefugten das Leben etwas schwerer gemacht. Sie sind von außen nicht zu lösen. Bedeutet: man muss schon echte Gewalt anwenden, damit das Schloß nachgibt. Apropos, wer unbedingt irgendwo rein will, kommt auch rein. Da hilft das beste Schloß nicht. Doch für einige Gartenabstellräume ist das Yale Sicherheitsschloß schon sehr gut. Hab und Gut ist somit besser geschützt und schreckt Gelegenheitsdiebe ab. Fazit: ein gut robustes Sicherheitsschloß mit eigens ausgewählter Zahlenkombination. Sehr gut verarbeitet, leicht zu montieren und zu handhaben. Preis Leistung ist hier vollkommen Ok.

Das Schloss mit Falle ist ein Hingucker, gebürsteter Edelstahl und schöne Formgebung vom Designer. Die Schlossbefestigung erfolgt über insgesamt 6 Schlosserschrauben mit gut 6cm Länge. Die Schrauben müssen von der anderen Seite mittels Muttern festgezogen werden. Wie bei allen Schlössern dieser Art, benötigt die Tür einen bündigen Abschluss zur Zarge. Zudem muss es eine Möglichkeit geben, die Falle in der Zarge zu befestigen mit eben jenen Schlosserschrauben. Bolzen und Gehäuse wirken sehr stabil und halten einem sehr einfachen Einbruchsversuch stand. Einem etwas professionelleren Eindringling kann man wahrscheinlich mit dieser Montageweise nicht wirklich Widerstand entgegensetzen. Der vierstellige Zahlencode kann individuell eingestellt werden wenn das Schloss offen ist. Man muss dann etwas fummelig mit einem Schraubenzieher oder ähnlichem einen Stift drücken um den Code zu verändern. Fazit: Wenn die baulichen Gegebenheiten entsprechend sind, ein optisch ansprechendes, leichtgängiges Zahlenschloss für Schuppen oder ähnliches.

Dieses Kombinationsschloss von Yale ist sehr gut verarbeitet und macht einen robusten Eindruck. Man sollte beachten, dass es nicht für alle Einsatzzwecke geeignet ist. Man muss das Schloss von der "Innenseite" montieren. Ist diese Innenseite auch bei verschlossenem Riegel erreichbar, kann man die Schrauben (mitgeliefert) lösen. Mit einer dementsprechenden Eigenkonstruktion (Schraubenkopf Abflexen) kann das Schloss auch am Gartentörchen verwendet werden. Ich finde das Schloss sehr praktisch, das es einen weiteren Schlüssel am Schlüsselbund erspart.
