Buffalo Electric Soup Kettle Stainless Steel 10Ltr L715, Black

So we bought this for a business not actually for soup at all. We use it to melt large quantities of was to make wax melts which it does remarkably well. Place water in the well, place soup into the bucket, plug in and switch on and it will heat up and maintain temperature. You will see these in many cafes and eateries filled with soup ready to serve, they are perfect for the job. This particular model is a great one, very reliable easy to clean and use. It's not overly complicated the only feature not there which you may want is a temperature gauge.

Reasonable build quality, lightweight (even when full) efficient to run and with variable heat dial and water immerser it doesn't overcook the contents. It's is used for soups on the street markets, Lifeboat events, and mulled wine at Christmas. Even used it for keeping cooked bacon warm until rolls are being made up. Price point won't break the bank either.

We already have larger soup kettles but we wanted a smaller on to cater for smaller numbers attending courses at the Urban Wellness hub in Aberdeen. This perfect for 12-14 soup medium sized portions. But we have used for as little as 6 large portions equally well. The temperature control works accurately and I have checked the temperature manually and everything is okay. It takes around an hour to get soup heated directly from the fridge, but normally we set the kettle on 2 or 3 for a couple of hours to get it warmed up then a blast at full temperature for 30 minutes before lunch time. We have used it for chilli, curry and rice pots as well, and keeps food at a perfect temperature without overcooking. The red colour makes a change from the typical silver, chrome or black pots - we love it. The hole opening for the soup ladle should be a wee bit bigger, so for example it won't accept spme of the soft touch silicon handles ladles. The kettle is very easily cleaned on the outside and inside and with the lid and the collar fitting comfortably inside the kettle when not in use. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a smaller sized kettle.

This is a good product for heating and keeping warm wine and soup and is easy to use and at 10 litres capacity is not too large to store.

This soup kettle was just what our charity needed to cater our own carol service this year. It heated a dozen bottles' worth of mulled wine perfectly while the service was going on, although we allowed an hour to soften the decorative orange slices as well. We also bought some thermos jugs to support two catering stations for faster serving: it was quick and easy to fill them just before we started serving. Even with this year's capital investment in equipment, the cost-per-head was modest but the effect was first-rate. The whole thing was also easy to set-up, clean up and store, but do read the instructions first (i.e. put a bit of water between the kettle and the sleeve). Now we're thinking about fund-raising evenings with simple light meals.

Bought it to keep pumpkin soup hot at a halloween garden party of about 25 people. The soup was not my best work, but it WAS hot enough to warm the cockles of your heart. The herby focaccia I made to dip in it was amazing, but that's another story. The device - has variable temperatures - incorporates a very easy to use water bath to distribute heat and prevent food burning

The wife wanted me to cook a chilli con carnie (plus other stuff) for New Years Eve, in a buffet style for what turned out to be 25 guests. Ok, but how would I keep this stuff warm - welcome to the Buffalo. I prepared nearly 10 litres of chilli. Then, i kept it warm, bubbling away gently for hours in the Buffalo without a care in the world. It was just perfect. Any other get together's for the family, I will just be thinking, what can I keep warm in the Buffalo. In all seriousnes, it's a good piece of kit, and for fifty quid, you can't go wrong!! Just make sure you buy the correct ladle for it. And test the amount of water you need to keep it warm, before setting it on the dining table. (trust me).
