If only UK police procedurals could learn from this
Picture a British police procedural, that is a TV programme centred around a group of detectives solving serious crimes. Got it? What you have in your head is a group of dour depressives who hate their jobs, each other, and probably themselves. They all have ghastly back stories that will dominate at least half the series, in between solving the increasingly appalling crimes that reveal only the worst of human nature. Then you have have NCIS, and several other US shows I could name but this is just about the best. In this the characters are depicted as reasonably cheerful, reacting to their dealing with humanity at its worst with just the right mix of black humour and empathy. They have back stories that are never allowed to dominate, even though they are quite interesting, and in several cases more funny than dark. The crimes themselves are serious, but they vary between the relatively ordinary, domestic violence for example, and high-powered espionage. So, the series remains grounded, and doesn't try to outdo itself from episode to episode in sheer horror. In fact, often the better aspects of humanity are revealed as well.Which is more realistic? Which is more watchable? Clearly it is NCIS and similar over any UK equivalent. Most real policemen and those that support them are actually quite cheerful people who react to their jobs with a degree of black humour, because if they didn't then they couldn't cope. Depressives who wallow in the horror of their situation would end up leaving for another line of work, or would be fired, or would be dragged off by the men in the white coats after they tried to take a statement from the office coffee machine. Who the hell wants to watch a bunch of unhappy people moaning anyway? Well, not me. I don't watch Eastenders either. This is a classic NCIS season in a show that is now up to number 8 and which has maintained its audience figures throughout. In fact it has built on them and is now the most watched of such shows in the US. When you consider the excellent CSI and its spinoffs that is saying something. I won't repeat the other comments, suffice to say that NCIS is fantastic and if you like cop shows you won't be disappointed.Just remember to feed your pets amid your orgy of Gibbs and co.

Great Show
This is a very good show, well acted and well scripted, and very funny at times. It is a crime show with a difference, as it is based on the navel criminal investigative service, of the US Navy, and was a spin off of the popular JAG show that was on in the 90s.A spinoff series of this one is, NCIS,LA. staring of all people LL,Cool J. A show which is bang upto date, and just as great. Both shows are still running on TV at the moment, a testament to just how popular these 2 shows are to the Viewing Public, Enjoy.

Another great series
Yet another great series from the NCIS team. Gibbs was his usual self although there were episodes when you saw his softer side. I was expecting there to be some romance for Tony but there was nothing at all. It would be great if he got together with Ziva....? I also thought that it was interesting to bring in the team from LA and have a joint operation. This allowed us Gibbs fans to have a little more insight into his somewhat mysterious past.I thought the season finale was a little disappointing when compared to season 5, it lacked that big "bang" and question mark ending. However, I am still eagerly awaiting the start of Season 7.

Good story line and give insight into Gibbs past
Alway love this series, nothing can beats this original...the cast is great....still wish Kate's alive and bantering with Tony :(Anyway, the team works as long as Gibbs, Tony, Abbey and McGee still together. As for this episode, it's good to gain some insight into Gibbs past and the merge of the LA team was well done.....you could say that you're watching NCIS (original) or NCIS LA :)

Best Yet
This is the best NCIS season to date, the twists and turns in this series keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm a massive fan of the series and was gutted when Jenny died and was even more gutted when Vance took over. But he is proving to be a good and important character and the banter between him and Gibbs is superb, truly a hate hate relationship. The different episodes are on excellent locations with really good twists in them.Ziva is starting to show how good her Masood training really is which to be honest i've always had a question mark above her head after Kate was killed. Tony is still in amazing form, so funny and pathetic at the same time as his take on the world and his experiences are very TONY! (you know what i mean), he's ace. Still taking loads of stick off Tony, McGee is becoming a really good agent and a good friend to Tony, but he'll never admit it.The sexual atmosphere between Tony and Ziva is at boiling point and surely something has to be done soon, they are perfect for each other. Is Tony going to miss another opportunity like he did with Kate! Is Ziva going to continue to bury her feelings for Tony and let him keep dating this moronic girls.Characters like Jimmy Palmer, Agent Lee and Abby Shuto are being brought into the stories a lot more and becoming key figures in certain cases. I don't know about you but i could just watch the team talking and messing about with each other in the NCIS building, they are so good at it, the brilliant and puzzling cases they investigate are just a bonus.

Season 6 - Moving on
Season 6 felt rather more dour than Seasons 1 to 5. Resolving the issues at the end of Season 5 and getting to grips with a new Director all leave this series feeling a bit more uncomfortable and ragged than previous seasons. The main characters are as engaging as ever and you learn more about their back stories.Best to watch this after you have seen at least some of the earlier seasons. Hoping that Season 7 will be more cheerful.

How do they do it!
I ordered it recently (I had to send it back - Faulty), seen this on TV, and I almost never miss an episode when it's shown - the action, storylines and humour : and all the series have those three traits. With 23 million viewers in the States alone - that fact says it all, customers searching for a brilliant TV series that almost never fails to entertain - this is unmissable!.
