Good for my small library of books on Eclectus parrots
Interesting book. Not so much focus on Eclectus parrots as companion pets, but lots of interesting research. Good information on diet, health and housing.

What an amazing book this is!!!
What a well written adventure of a book this is. Anyone that have a passion for eclectus and exploration will absolutely adore this book. This book provides a thorough analysis of the visual differences between the eclectus sub species as well as the general knowledge required to breed , feed and look after them in Aviculture . The other portion of this amazing book takes you through on a journey through far North Queensland in Australia where Graham Taylor “the author” collect wild native Australian eclectus parrots on license for the Pearl Coast Zoo. The difficulty of this task in the thick rain Forests of the iron range is very well depicted in this book and a must have for any avid eclectus lover with a sense for exploration.

It’s okay
It was a lot of breeding information and the ramblings of grahams experience. I wished it was more about taking care of the Eclectus not for breeding purposes, i wish it included meal recipes and more details about enrichment. I feel like it went over those things briefly but not in depth. I did not really help me but it did solidify what I already know.

Interesting Story Telling
As the title says... there's a lot of interesting story telling, but not much information relating to ethology and care of the Eclectus parrot. I'm not sure if that's because the author is trying to convey behavior properties through story telling, or just because they aren't connecting the dots for us 'non-scientists'. The book mainly tells of the authors travels to visit these birds in the wild, with a little history on the original parrot trade some 40yrs ago. Don't get me wrong, it's interesting (and somewhat sad), but overall I didn't walk away from this book knowing much more than when I started.
