Highly recommended: Ambidextrous, and easily adjusted.
This is a very well designed splint, soft, yet supporting. I'm using it for an injury to the base of the thumb at the wrist (the CMC joint). I love it. The metal inner support seem sturdy and well aligned with the bones. Overall, they provide the support that the joint desperately needed. I do not understand why some users had trouble on the left hand. It went readily and easily on to my left thumb, and the four stretch laces make it easy to adjust the tension on the wrist, and how the tension is applied to the hand, e.g. around the cuff or more towards the knuckles. The plastic buckle is out of the way of my wrist, up along the top side of the base of my thumb. I have large hands, and wear L or XL gloves. I ordered the large. The fit is spot on. Two thumbs way up on this 3M Futuro thumb/wrist splint/stabilizer. I think that you could pay a lot more and not find a better product.

Great fit and thumb support
Excellent support for the thumb. Comfortable fit and seems to relieve my thumb pain.

Great for right hand, left hand is uncomfortable
Looser support, I’ll use these when graduating from my bulkier thumb spicas as my tendons heal. I have tendonitis in both thumbs/‘mommy thumb’. They’re too stretchy to offer enough support in the early days of healing but do think they’ll help prevent reinjury once I reach the stage of no pain. Support is nice and soft/comfortable on the right hand but the left hand is quite uncomfortable because the hardest fastener part is on the underside of the wrist when it’s reversed for left hand, it also has a harder strip that pushes on the outer wrist bone for the same reason. Wish they didn’t try to make it universal fit and just make one for each dedicated side.

Super comfortable
This splint is great. It's great to wear 24/7 and is a great moderate support. I know that there is another one just like it for a few bucks less but it didn't stand up through time as well as this one. The other one is a one size fits all. It's not as supportive and the thumb is a lot shorter and the wrist is also smaller. I do like the lacing on it it feels like it has more support with all the laces instead of just a thick strap. I got the large size so the Ace one is more than likely sized as a small/medium. Now with both thumbs needing support I'm back to purchase again. The ace one is a very good product but I think me needing a large probably helped it wear out faster than this one. I would definitely purchase this one again and am doing that now.

I've tried a lot, this has been the best
So nice I ordered it twice (mostly because I lost the first one and loved it so much). So I tried (and returned) a lot of braces. My thumb injury is in a weird place. I needed support, but still need to be able to use my hand. This brace is comfortable, breathable, flexible enough to prevent atrophy but still has the support I need. A lot of braces I've needed to pad due to rubbing, not this one. Other have stabilized my thumb to the point where I can't use it to grip things at all, this one allows me to complete day to day tasks while still providing support for my thumb and wrist. No rash from sweating in the brace or pain from rubbing. Its honestly been the best brace I've had. Don't know if I'll work for everyone, but hands down best for me.

My Bionic Cyborg Glove!
I first found this little gizmo over at Target four years ago when I wrenched my thumb by sleeping on it for hours. Squished the big joint. Super painful. Well, I did it again last week. Hurts so bad to use my thumb to pick up or support even the smallest items. Couldn't find my old one, so off to Target. Well, NO ONE sells the L/XL size in the stores anymore, just the S/M, which does not work for me. I have long fingers so I was extremely happy to find this size on Amazon. This brace is so clever as you can take one or both of the plastic rods out of it to customize the thumb area stiffness, not to mention adjusting the wrist area and thumb strap. And BIG PLUS for me; it doesn't look dorky or orthopedic at all. It looks kind of cool, actually, a little bionic. I feel like I'm part cyborg. LOL Seriously, though, it really soothes the pain and keeps me from accidentally re-wrenching the joint so it can heal. No chemical odor, super light-weight, works for right or left hands, all 'round winner of a product.

Not right for my osteoarthritis in the thumb base joint. My experience & my doc's feedback
These are excellent quality and easy to use. No complaints in the design or comfort - they are very comfortable, and thin, and breathable. Easy for all day use. SIZING: Based on my hand circumference being 7.25", I chose L/XL, despite the fact at 5'3", the actual length of my hands and fingers isn't that long. USE: I work in marketing, on a computer all day, five days a week, and was recently diagnosed with mild/moderate osteoarthritis in my thumb joints. EXPERIENCE: I put them on and tried different positions for the velcro and different tightness levels. I wore them for 20 minutes the first day, and tried to gradually work up. The 3rd day, I wore them for an hour, and my thumb joints started aching. I took them off and the pain stopped. WHAT MY RHEUMATOLOGIST SAID: having pain from a split confused me. My doctor examined them and asked me if I could move my thumb with them on. I said yes - that's the point, I wanted something I could type with them on. He said (at least in my case) I should NOT wear a brace while typing/on the computer. That was a surprise. He said what's better is to get braces that totally immobilize the thumb joint and thumb, and wear them while I'm going about the rest of my day or evening, not on the computer. He also said that it appeared too big - despite the fact I could pull the velcro so it felt secure, the sizing was off. He said he'd suggest to size down. I suspected that was also an issue, because only half the pad of my thumb poked out above the splint, so even though the circumference of the hand said go L/XL, I should've gone with my gut and ordered S/M to fit the scale of my hand. So, back they go and the search continues. I am glad they help most people who order them, and they are a quality item - they simply aren't going to work for my specific osteoarthritis situation.

Neat and snug
This thumb support is comfortable and neat, it’s medium support so allows some movement to perform less stressful tasks, whilst couching the thumb and wrapping around the wrist to hold it all in place. May seem expensive, but I think it’s worth it.

Bin begeistert

Reduces joint pain
Gloves were delivered on time. Tried them out right away going kayaking. I had some joint pain already that day and could still feel it with the gloves on while paddling. However, I kept the gloves on and the pain subsided shortly after I got home from my trip. (I had ordered another more solid set of joint support gloves for kayaking, but since they have not arrived yet, I tried out these gloves.) I am surprised how well they help. Thank you for all the people who leave reviews. It helped me make the decision to try out these gloves.
