What is the difference between 1.0M and 1.0N solution? I seen both listed for sale.

Both refer to the concentration of the solution, in mol/L. The M refers to molarity, and the N refers to normality. In this case, they are equivalent.

What is the equivalent of lye in the liquid compared to dry lye? I make soap and it seems there is more water and little lye in the liquid form.

This is not really designed for purposes like making soap, its a lab chemical It's 1 M NaOH, which comes out to about 4% NaOH by weight. If that helps.

why is 1M the same as 1N

Because for +- 1 ion chemicals like HCl and NaOH, 1 molar (1 gram-molecular weight) is equal to 1 equivalent. Not so,, for example, for sulfuric acid (H2SO4), where 1 M is 2N.

Can this 1 m naoh be treated as a standard for the purposes of titration to obtain accurate results (i.e., is it 1.00 +/- 0.01 n or better)?

This chemical was not made to NIST standards so it may not be that tight in regards to +/- 0.01

Ph is pretty weak on this of only 9.8 Sodium hydroxide 1m solution should be 14. I've also bought the 0.1m solution and it was weak as well. This has caused me issues and a lot of wasted time. Wont be buying again
