Country Farm Coloring Book: For Adults with Playful Animals, Beautiful Flowers, and Nature Scenes for Relaxation (Country Coloring Books)

I dislike most of Jade Summer's books (because I don't like cartoon-style people or animals), but this book is different - the illustrations are drawn in a more realistic style, and they are LOVELY. They have just the right amount of detail to be interesting and appealing to colour in, without being too busy. There's a good mix of scenes including people, animals, scenery, picnics and farm buildings, and there's even two very nice Christmas-type scenes (one interior, one exterior) at the end. There's a lot of pages in this book so plenty of choice and variety. It's not all 'girly' like many of Ms Summer's books. It's also great value, as there are so many pages and they're all the same quality of illustration (no second-rate filler pages).I'm not personally so keen on the farm animals (there are cows, pigs, horses etc) ,but I can't wait to get started on the apple orchard, picnic scenes, interior scenes, harvest scenes etc. It's a perfect book for seasonal colouring.The paper seems OK but I probably won't use it because when you purchase the paper copy, you also get a code to access the digital PDF version. This is a huge bonus for me, as it means I can print onto watercolour paper and use watercolour paints or watersoluble pencils without worrying the water will wreck the page.If you enjoy colouring more realistic scenes and love nature and the countryside, you might well love this book as much as I do.

I really enjoy Jade Sumner's selection of colouring books, they are so nice to colour and this will be the 2nd I've bought in her collection! I have encouraged a friend to start colouring and have bought her "flowers for beginners" and the Country Farm that arrived today, so lovely! Thanks very much! Great for dementia as the pictures can jog memories and the lines aren’t as bad on the eyes as some pattern books. Excellent product.

i have just recieved the country fam coloring book from amazon by jade summer,its just what i have been looking.i am almost house house bound and am sure this book will give me many house of entertainment my only gripe is i could do with help with what the colours i should use.maybe there is a small version on each page fully coloured in ,many thanks, robert

I got this as a Xmas present to my sister as she was going through a stressful time. She just sent me her first attempt at colouring. She is enjoying it immensely and has become an advocate of adult colouring as a strategy for dealing with stress . Fantastic job! Thank you!

I think the book itself is absolutely amazing. I haven’t found anything about it I don’t like. The pics themselves are eas to colour and I think very easy to work out not in a muddle like some I get! Will order another when this is nearly done!

I bought this for my sister, who is in her eighties. She called raving about it. She loved the funny captions and waxed nostalgic about our childhoods on a small farm. It was a hit!

There are some scenes (such as camping and forest) which may not fit into that category quite as well but let’s just say the book is a good one for a more simple life with outdoor scenes taking prominence. All four seasons are represented (though the winter scenes are focused on Christmas more than just winter.)I personally really appreciate the change of seasons with spring and baby animals, summer with picnics and long days, fall with harvest and Christmas with snow!The designs in this book are detailed with lots of heavy background designs. There are some areas in the designs which might be considered small and perhaps even intricate but overall, the designs are not difficult to color. However, because of the detail, you can spend a good amount of time coloring each page.You can receive a digital download of the book as part of the purchase of the print copy (instructions in the book). While printing those copies is a great plus, I will be reviewing (and videoing and photo images) from the print copy.This is what I found in this coloring book:25 Unique Country Life inspired designs with 2 copies of each for 50 coloring pages plus a couple of bonus pages from other booksPrinted one side of the pagePaper is typical inexpensive quality by CreateSpace printing: white (with black printed on the back of each page), thin, slightly rough and non-perforated.The designs do not merge into the binding. There is a thick framing line on each of the design pages,There are is a thumbprint index of all images at the front of the book.Glue BindingCreate Space Paper/Media QualityWhile the back of the is printed black to show less bleed through, be aware that there is bleed through and protect your work. I like to use a blotter when working in this type of book. I use a page of card stock or several sheets of heavyweight paper under my working page. It keeps seeping ink and marring dents from ruining the pages below.Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page quickly.Water-based markers bleed through in spots.Gel pens and India ink pens leave shadows on back of the page. India ink can bleed through if you apply heavily or multiple coats.Coloring Pencils work fairly well with this publisher’s paper provided you don’t press extremely hard while coloring. I find that I can layers the same color for deeper pigment or multiple colors and blended easily with a pencil style blending stick. This is true of both oil and wax based pencils. I have also found that hard lead pencils leave dents through the paper.
