Roped in dad managers will find this helpful
As a reluctant youth team dad manager I found myself roped in to running a team and respective training sessions. Having played football I knew the playing part very well, however you soon realise controlling and motivating a bunch of 7 year old kids with the attention span of a goldfish is a whole new ball game (pardon the pun). I didn't know where to start, as a result we lost every game until the new year. Then with the help of some of the drills in this book and perseverance we managed to win a game, then another and so on. We are now beating teams that would hammer us previously. This is all due to the development of the kids, which has in some way been helped by this book.

Good purchase
I am new to coaching (FA Introduction to Coaching Football) and have spent a lot of time researching drills to use with this age group. It is a challenging concept to capture coaching in print when you are surrounded by various online resources, especially YouTube, but this book about manages it. The end result is a catalogue of skills and drills which can be modified to suit your circumstances. I also use a cheap software to draw up my own plans, and this book has helped augment them.

not for every coach, especially if you are a youth coach who is anti-technical drills
wanted to be more positive about this as someone has actually bothered to share their knowledge with the rest of us. the drills are good but ...i didn't find there were enough that i thought would be of interest to the group of boys i coach. I am coaching under 8 and i feel the cone drill approach sounds great, modern etc but most 7 year olds i have hate them , they just want to play and we should really work on first touch, 1v1 etc. still probably will help others but for me , only 5 or 6 drills we of use
