Excellent
Excellent Choice of guitar for the price and brand can't go wrong! Even better when i got the original strings off and slapped some Martin 80/20 12 Acoustic Guitar Strings(12 String) - Bronze (Extra Light, .010 - .047). Thats it, stays in tune all the time now! Just thought i would add this review as i noticed some people saying their 12 string epi was going out of tune, all the time. Which is a guarantee with all new guitars before they get a decent string change. I recommend the above strings with this, Every man for them selves though. I usually have used a heavier gage but i thought got to give these a go and found these really good and i have been playing it non stop, and is still holding its ground. No snapping or tuning problems at all, and thats a first with any strings for me so well impressed! Yep i would recommend this guitar, sounds the business when slapping a pickup on it as well. Guitar looks to nice to be drilling a hole for a fixed pick up, so i use the portable one on this. Sounds Ace, and best of both worlds.Good SellerThanks!

12 string bargain
What a bargain, took the chance and ordered on line, straight out of the box and perfectly playable, did a lot of research and decided to go for it, I have been playing guitar for over 50 years, my guitars are Gison Dove (1975) Guild D50 (1987) and others, don't hesitate if you are thinking of buying a 12 string, how do they do it for the money? back in the early 60s I played a Framus 12 string which could only be tuned to C, the Epiphone DR212 can be tuned to concert pitch, the guitar has wonderful sustain and harmonics and rings like a bell (ok guitar) and a limeted life time warranty (limeted to the oriinal purchaser) I recomend this guitar it is a bargain

Epiphone
Has the Epiphone quality build, and it is very well made. Takes a bit of tuning the strings, require stretching in. But sound ok once there. I have bought some Martin's to restring it eventually. But, like any twelve string guitar, it sounds great playing it. For the price, you get a lot of guitar. If you want the best of the best, then you'll need to pay £1000's . But a decent cheap and cheerful, this is the one you'll be looking for.No regrets.

A great budget 12 string
Excellent service and guitar was well set when received - obviously needed tuning but action was good and I was able to play as soon as it was in tune. Packaging was basic but no damage had been done to the guitar in transit. It is my third 12-string and the best I've owned... lovely full sound and that classic 12 ring...

Poor playability out of the box.
The build quality and finish of this guitar are good, however, playability straight out of the box was poor. The string height at the twelfth fret was pretty high and sighting down the neck there was a noticeable curve. The guitar came with a leaflet showing how to adjust the truss rod which was a bit concerning that Epiphone thought it necessary to include it for a brand new guitar. I was surprised that there seems to have been a minimal setup before this guitar left the factory. I straightened the neck and this marginally improved the action but have also removed the bridge and have taken sanded some off the bottom with a Dremel to reduce the bridge height which has helped. Plus point, it is a bone bridge not plastic. The supplied strings were cheap and nasty and are only good for setting up the guitar. I've changed them for a set of Martin's which were obviously better. I already own an Ashton twelve string which was cheaper and I would say is equal in tone to the epiphone. I had the same problem with the Ashton, which I have sorted, so recognised the same problem with this one. I suppose I was expecting a bit more from this guitar given that it's a well known company so am a bit disappointed overall. If you are thinking of buying this be prepared to either put some time and effort into getting the string hight/action right or pay for a professional setup. Not being a professional luthier I'll wait until I change the strings and then probably take a bit more off the bottom of the bridge as it's best to do it a bit at a time to avoid taking too much off and having a problem with fret buzz.

Place your bets now
Epiphone quality is really hit and miss, I own a couple of fantastic epiphones including Chinese made which is fantastic and an older Korean unsung guitar.Unfortunately, the binding on this Indonesian one looks like they were having an off day and was returned. I’m not saying they are all bad, but be prepared to return if you aren’t happy.
