Q: Would this scope suitable for a beginner in electronics?

Hi Reg, It's difficult to say really as it depends very much on what you are trying to do. Personally, I think this is a fantastic scop for the money. Here are some things to think about. Make sure that the bandwidth and sample rate suits your needs. Do you really need 4 channels? I was only looking for a 2 channel scop but got this because the price was so good. Would you be able to survive with a good multimeter or do you really want to look at signal waveforms? Would you be better off with a secondhand analogue scop, which would be much simpler to operate until you've learnt the basics and then you can go for something like this? These scops have a lot of features that make them correspondingly complicated to operate. Although that said the "Auto" button will get you out of hot water if you get completely lost. If the money is burning a hole in your pocket and you're the sort of person who will stick with it until you've learnt what all the controls do, then just go for it. Kevin

Q: Can it be upgraded to 100Mhz bandwidth?

Hello, This oscilloscope is a 4 channel 50 MHz. I don't think it can be changed to 100MHz. Regards,

Q: Why is this over £200 above RRP

Don’t buy it now. When a seller don’t have stock temporarily they normally up the price to stop people from buying until they have new stock. This saves them time and money removing the listing and re listing again. Keep an eye until price comes down
