There is a review on this complaining that it rusted after the first use. This is cast iron so yes it will rust if not properly seasoned and oiled, wash it once and then rinse it. Then heat it up to a very high heat and oil it! It never needs to be washed again just re-oiled. I have used mine for steaks and burgers and it is superb!

Very heavy duty burger press, had issues with mince sticking to the press on first attempts, but there are various methods to fix this issue and it's not the press' fault. Use either greaseproof paper (hint: get some strong magnest to 'clip' the paper to the topside of the press), or you can lightly oil the press and leave on the patty for several seconds before lifting off. I believe this press will last an age, well built, heavy and works a treat.

Bought to help flatten meat, does what it is meant to, only thing,I washed it when I got it and left it to dry,and when it was dry,it had rust in the edges and print,I do have hard water where I live,so have found when I wash/wipe it,i HAVE to dry it thoroughly to avoid the rust coming back,it hasn't since! But aside from that,it's very sturdy and looks like a quality item, would recommend.

Shocking! Purchased for a small Christmas gift, washed it over before use only to find it rusty once dried! Not even used once - terrible quality and unsafe - what costing do they use on this? AVOID AT ALL COST!

It holds meat down.

I use this press all the time when making wraps and grilling meat. It’s well built and the silicone handles protect you from heat. I’ve also preheated on an open flame before use to give a nice char on top side of meat when grilling. Perfect size and weight.

I’m very happy with this grill press, the quality is excellent, and it works really well. For those concerned about rust: yes, it’s cast iron, and like any cast iron product, it will rust if not properly cared for. The key is to keep it completely dry after cleaning. Here’s how I take care of mine: After each use, I give it a thorough scrub and rinse with hot water (no detergent), then immediately dry it with a tea towel. To make sure all moisture is gone, I place it on a low gas flame or in a warm oven for a few minutes. Once it’s completely dry and cooled down, I store it with my other cookware. I don’t bother with oils or sprays, just keeping it dry and away from moisture does the trick. One thing to note: check the size before buying to make sure it fits your pans. I made the mistake of not measuring first, and it turned out to be too large for my cast iron skillets. So I can only use it on the BBQ at the moment, but I’ll definitely be getting a smaller one too, because these presses are fantastic.

Lo utilizamos tanto para aplastar tipo smash burger como para ponerle peso a cosas que queremos que se cocinen más rápidamente como setas o incluso tostando pan. El peso está perfecto y el agarre no se calienta y es cómodo. Hay que secarlas muy bien después de cada uso porque pueden oxidarse.

Purchased our first smash burger press and are so impressed. The item is very durable and easy to clean. A wonderful addition to your griddle items. We love it!
