The weak screw heads shear off when tightenned up.
The screws that are supplied with the safety catches are very weak and we found that the screw heads often break off when they are tightened up properly and since the safety catches use slotted holes they do need to be tightened properly to ensure that the catches do not go out of adjustment.Supplying these weak screws with safety devices is extremely poor and that is why I only give it two stars.I have only just fitted the plastic safety catches so they have not been tested over a period of time but from what I can tell the plastic catches themselves do seem to be reasonably good for the job and they should be effective for a small child if better screws are used to fix them.

Good length
Good buy. Good length allowing for easier access to cupboards and drawers. Comes in a pack of 6 closures/catches with fitting screws. Very happy with the Lindam brand so far. as previously bought a different brand and was disappointed with them because they were two short and this meant it was a struggle to open the doors and drawers. Having replaced the old catches with Lindam brand has proven less problematic..

Effective, but kind of annoying
I've been using these catches for about two years now. First, the good: they are still very effective at keeping my toddler out of cupboards and drawers. He can pull on the handles as much as he likes, but the door only comes open about 2cm. He did once stick his fingers in the crack and shut the door, but seems to have learnt that's a bad idea! There are a few disadvantages though. It makes opening a cupboard a two handed operation, which can get pretty annoying in the kitchen. If the catches aren't positioned exactly right then they can stop catching or block the cupboard from closing. They tend to move with time and frequently need adjusting.

Spend extra on magnetic
I brought these as at time of purchase I was unsure on magnetic locks as the review on them are mixed, so chose these as I had used a different make in my prior house and thought they would be better than little hands pulling out and breaking everything in my kitchen units. I also brought one magnetic lock for a corner unit that couldn't have one of these fitted. These are stronger than the Boots one's I brought prior which snapped but other than that are a waste of money, they have been fitted to my units for 2 months max and do not hold the doors as either the arms become to flexable or the catch moves around as the screw provided start to move along the hole provided. I am therefore still picking up broken crockery off my tiled floor when little hands get into places that shouldn't.My corner unit that has the magnetic lock on has no problems at all, unless I was to loose the magnetic key.

They worked for me!
I installed these catches in our 3-drawer office type pedestal to protect stationary (pens, scizzors, tape, etc..) from our 16 month old boy. He liked to open the drawers and empty their contents on the floor. I fitted the catches and we could not keep from laughing when we watched his fruitless attempts to open the drawers! He has lost interest in these drawers after a couple of days. And we seem to have hit a double as our 4.5 y.o. daughter is not able to get to the stuff in the drawers too!Installation is fairly straightforward. I would recommend to pre-drill the holes to let the screws go in easier and for extra precision. If the child is clever enough to find a way to open these catches it is always possible to install catches on both left and right sides of the drawer. The child will have to use both hands at the same time to release the catches and it can be tricky enough for him.

Decent product. As advertised. - Screws are a little weak but seems decent enough to stop a baby from opening. I'm sure if the baby is interested enough in getting passed it and sees how to do it it wouldn't take long to get passed it though.

Very effective and discreet safety catches
I bought these when my daughter (15 months) decided her favourite pastime was emptying kitchen cupboards.Very quick to fit, although I piloted a small hole for my screws prior to fixing which I think helped in the locating of them.We have some ikea safety catches on the sliding doors under our sink and these are NOT attractive bits of kit. These ones are all fitted internally, so once daughter is off to bed, the kitchen looks like an 'adult' room again.Their installation quickly put my daughter off bothering the doors. The only (very minor) downside is the both I and my partner keep forgetting they are there, and brute force has already seen us snap one. fortunately, I only needed to 'doctor' three doors, so the pack effectively provided spares for us.Once daughter has sussed how to open the doors and is back to her plate breaking / muesli throwing ways, I envisage that it will just take a little dab of silicon to fill the screw holes and make the kitchen look new again. For those who can remember they've fitted them they're great!

Not great if you have older children
Not very easy to install at all especially in double cupboards or under the sink. Installed to stop my 2 year old but only took a few times of my 6 year old trying to open the cupboard and forgetting lock was there to snap them.
