Lakeland Stainless Steel Insulated Butter Dish with Lid

This is really sturdy. The inside is almost like a flask. Keeps cold things cold & warm things warm. Easy to use large handle. Much easier to use than a ‘normal’ butter dish (usually a plate with a lid). This one makes it easier to get the butter out without dropping it all over your worktop, plus, if you drop it or drop the lid it won’t break. Really easy to clean (dishwasher safe). Looks really nice in stainless steel. Really well designed for actual use.

Lovely and it works

It came on time and was well packaged. Is attractive in a retro kinda way and doesn't scratch.... but most importantly of all it DOES keep your butter fresh and easy to spread. I've bought 'spreadable' butter in the past but, of course, it comes in a plastic tub (no-go for me now), and I find that it just doesn't have the flavour that non-spreadable has. Now I can enjoy proper butter again without making those annoying holes in my bread! This butter dish really does insulate and stop the butter melting and going that dark yellow colour with impaired flavour. Of course, if you leave it in full sun it won't work, I leave it on the work top out of direct sunlight. It takes a normal 250gm pack of butter. The lid fits well. Goes in the dishwasher. Well worth the money; I imagine I'll be using it for 10s of years as it's very sturdy. I highly recommend.

What can one say about a butter dish, well it is a butter dish, and quite a nice one too. Not giving it five stars because the insulation thing is more of a gimmick than anything else, in my humble opinion. It does work, but not very effectively. That said, reading other reviews of other similar products, it would appear that this is a common problem with this type of product. It is however very nicely made and will last a lifetime, in a normal house that is, maybe even in an abnormal house with loads of users. One thing to be careful of, it does rust ever so slightly (small rust patches) at the bottom of the dish and it appears to be proportionate to the amount of salt in your type of butter. I think it will be fine with normal butters such as Lurpak. We use a higher sea salt normandy butter. It is not a major problem though, I would still highly recommend this product.

I am pleased with the look of the product. It matches well with my other kitchen appliances. I’ve started using block butter that has no additives after reading about ultra processed foods. The dish has only been in use for four days. I washed the dish before use in warm water then rinsed with cold water as it retained some of the heat from the warm water. I gave it time to cool to room temperature. I read the instructions and took my butter from the refrigerator and let it soften to the consistency I like before putting it in the butter dish. Once the lid was on the butter, the butter has stayed soft and easy to spread. I leave the butter dish out of the fridge and on the work surface away from the cooker and air fryer so the outside of the dish doesn’t get warm. We have not had any really hot days in the uk as yet and my kitchen doesn’t get direct sunlight. I’m impressed with the performance so far. If anything untoward happens I’ll let you know. Great to be able to buy ‘proper’ butter with no extra oil and it spreading straight from the dish.

Excellent. Keeps the butter soft and despite the heat wave the butter does not become oily.Good value for money. 250 g butter sits comfortably within it. Easy clean in hot water.

Great product is the best butter dish we have ever owned.

Had one of these years ago but the quality of this one is nothing like the previous one. This one started rusting after a couple of uses and is getting worse every time I use it. It’s a shame as the insulation is good and it is great to use in the motorhome. I now have to line with baking paper to use it safely, which isn’t what I wanted but keeps the butter from getting tainted.

Kompakte Größe, spülmschinenfest, liegt gut in der Hand, der Griff ist gut zu benutzen und beim Herausnehmen aus dem Kühlschrank fallen einem nicht die Einzelteile entgegen wie bei den meisten Dosen mit großem Deckel. Der Artikel wurde schnell geliefert.

This is a truly fantastic butter dish. It hides most scratches and the insulated interior keeps my butter solid, even during the hottest summer months. Mine has taken a few falls off the cupboard, but it is well constructed and survived them all. Highly recommend!

Die Butterdose ist schon minimal angelaufen geliefert worden, ich war am Überlegen sie zurück zu senden. Habe sie dann aber doch behalten, da ich unbedingt eine doppelwandige brauchte. Nach mehrmaligem Geschirrspülgang ist sie aber undicht und in dem Hohlraum befindet sich nach dem Spülen Wasser... wenn man sie 2 Tage in einer bestimmten Position trocknen lässt, scheint es hinaus zu laufen, sie ist hübsch aber ich würde sie nicht wieder kaufen.
