The PERFECT solution for those out there who hate slugs like me ...
Whow, these nematodes were fresh and hungry! I have used this product before, but not from this supplier. Would recommend supplier and product with no hesitation. We have huge and voracious slugs - revolting and destructive. I use a hose applicator and actually watered the Nemaslug in during a rain shower - the following morning not a slug to be seen!. Last year, I had to wait a few days, but nope, these nematodes were raring to go. It really is a dream product - just get more than you need, as you cannot overdose. Water it in well, and water the area as normally after the first 48 hours, so that the little beasties can wash right down into the soil and start feeding on the slugs and eggs ... GRREAT! I notice a reduction in snail population too, although it is not supposed to affect snails, but I reckon the nematodes like the baby snails underground as a change! This product is one which I apply with a huge sigh of relief, as I LOATHE slugs and ours just sneer at any slug-killer and walk over it. Once this stuff is watered in, they just stop appearing - no bodies, no squelchy, exploding bombs under foot in the dark, nothing - occasionally the odd torpid, stiff slug makes its way out, but they are obviously not happy or healthy, hooray. Oh I am cruel .... The 'every six weeks' application is approximate, but not far out - once you see slugs appearing, get some more - and do apply a final dose at the end of the season to kill off those pesky, revolting eggs, to give a bit of a start for the next growing season. Here in S. Devon, the slug season is really all year, so I bless the day that a farmer friend of mine from Wales told me about nematodes. The stuff is not even gruesome, just like cream-coloured damp flour. It keeps well in the fridge and they supply it with a good use-by date. Go on, if you hate slugs like me, try it - well worth it.!

Nematodes work well if you follow the instructions carefully
The photos are from last year and you can see from the first one that I have quite a few of the soft fleshy plants that slugs love. Until I started using nematodes the year before last, I always ended up with lace rather than leaves. From the time I started using nematodes things have been very different, I think they must work on snails also because my once large snail population has been decimated. I highly recommend Nematodes to any gardener who suffers from slug damage, but it is important that the directions on the packet are followed precisely otherwise you do not get the best results. I have deployed them this year but of course it is too soon to see the result but I am confident it will be a good one again

This works!
Used it in spring 2 years in a row. Didnโt use it last year and couldnโt grow delphiniums or lupins. Slugs all over the garden. Donโt use slug pellets and this is an organic alternative.

Great for first time veg patchers
We'd easily clear 60 slugs from our 15x5 metre veg patch of an evening (and that's only on the few beds where we'd planted things). Had tried organic slug pellets and beer traps, both of which did their jobs, but weren't enough to battle the sheer number of slugs. Used this, within 2 weeks there was not a slug to be seen. A few weeks later, I may find one or two that had made it onto the lower leaves of my lettuces. It's a shame we've had to use this, as it means we won't attract the natural slug predators, but we may be able to ease off in time, as our veg patch gets more established. For first time growers though (like us), I'd recommend it if you can't go out slug hunting every night, and don't want to get disheartened by feeling as though the only benefactors of your home grown food are the gastropods gourmands.

Slug Killer Nematodes
I tried out two packs of this, the first early in the season, ( they only last six weeks) and the second later. The first pack worked very well, and my veg and perennials such as hostas, did very well with almost no damage after the first application. Not so for the second application, as you could not tell the had been treated. Plenty of slug and snail damage in the later part of the season. The Nematodes are expensive, and unless you buy the large pack, and treat a wide area then slugs will migrate from the non treated area. The Nematodes were difficult to apply, as they were thick in water and blocked all the watering cans I tried. None has a rose with large enough holes so I ended up sprinkling from the round end minus rose, which was wasteful and unsatisfactory.

Have a little faith.
I hesitated splashing out ยฃ20 to pour away millions of these Nematodes over my lawn. But being the Sci-Fi Nerd that I am, I understood the principal of Nanites and Replicators, so i risked it and went boldly. Wow, Wow, Wow. Theses little dudes do the job, without doubt. It was the fact that the supplier had hard and fast rules for delivery dates and application that convinced me that the product was truly alive. Anyway, I could easily harvest 20+ on any morning raid. Within a few days of application I found 5, a little later 2 and all but 1 of them where travelling AWAY from my lawn! This week I found One and I think that fell from overhanging shrubs. I am really glad I purchased this product and recommend it, without hesitation. Live long and prosper! Unless you're a slug of course.

and that the method of mixing is a bit tedious. You have to mix a stock solution and ...
My vegetable patch was remarkably clear of slugs and snails, within a couple of days of using it. I will buy it again, but not in the 100 square meter pack. Remember that you have to use it fairly quickly after receipt, and that the method of mixing is a bit tedious. You have to mix a stock solution and then dilute it into another 10 litre watering can before using. This took an incredibly long time. No matter how much I kept stirring the original stock solution, I found when I got to the last few dilutions, that the stock mix was thick and sludgy in the bottom of the watering can. I'll definitely buy a smaller pack though, and treat the required areas by rotation.
