first the watch is great. My grandson is autistic and he uses this to call grandparents and mom. The battery life could be better. oh, a tip if yours is not charging, just clean the contacts on the watch with a pencil eraser. This was purchased July 11, 2023. The screen protector from the factory has done its job but has become very scratched to the point of not being able to see the display. My grandson removed the screen protector, so I contacted the vendor here via amazon support. I was given an email and I asked for a replacement screen protector, but the vendor sent a new watch, complete. This is fantastic service and support from a vendor. Then I researched other screen protectors that may be a similar size. Turns out the size is the same, I did not need to trim anything. Now the original watch has some screen protection and we have a spare watch if the first ever breaks or is damaged.

I got this phone for my 7 year old to call us if she needed anything at school. It has a great screen, and a little camera and flash light on the side as well. It is easily managed through the app that it comes with and we really liked how small it was compared to the ones that Verizon sold a few years ago for kids.

I was looking for a smartwatch that would allow my 8 y/o to call or text myself and our family, that had GPS so I could track him when playing with neighborhood friends, plus a few other features without the ability for him to get on the internet/social media … and this watch is perfect for that, at an affordable price. When we had an issue with it earlier on, the seller responded very quickly and has been wonderful with all aspects of their customer service. This is a great option for the age range that you want to be able to speak with them, start your children off with the right amount of responsibility, but they aren’t ready for all the issues that come with unlimited access to the internet. Definitely recommend!

The watch seemed okay. The instructions were horribly translated. I bought the SIM card that was recommended for it called speed talk. Between waiting on hold and emailing both speed talk and the smartwatch I finally got somebody to tell me it's just not going to work to put in a request at some random email or website. If I was getting paid minimum wage trying to sort this out I would be holding a pretty happy check right now. Not worth the aggravation for sure!

The parent app for the device is a bit cumbersome and it is clear it’s translated from Chinese based set up. Regular SMS messaging is hard to do as their isn’t a QWERTY style screen keyboard but rather a phone button letter keys where you click on the button that has the letter in the group then pick that letter. Then go back to the group list for the next letter. My son wasn’t thrilled with this. The call function works well and programming numbers is easy. Blocking unknown numbers also worked well though there wasn’t a way to do this for texts. He got some weird ones. We never got to set up the schedule app. The GPS tracker worked well and was accurate. We tried to put the WhatsApp on it. It loaded fine but we could never get the confirmation text to go through. The SIM card was easy to install and worked fine with SpeedTalk (TMobile network). The family message app wasn’t too helpful as he or I would send a message through it but wouldn’t get an alert that we had a message to view. The biggest down side is about 3 weeks after getting it set up, it just stopped powering on. My son but it on the charger for low battery. Waited until it was nearly full 98% and when he took it off the charger it would no longer power on. If it was placed back on the charger the screen would show the power percent screen but wouldn’t go anywhere else. The watch wouldn’t power on to the OS or the main function screen. There was not contact for customer service in the box or on the purchase page. So we sent it back for a refund. Disappointing. I would have tried some of the other kids’ watch optima but most require and built in sim and to use more expensive service. $10-20 a month is more than I want to pay for a watch to text and call. I only pay $24 a month for much more access on my iPhone. I ended up purchasing an adult watch which took a SIM card and it’s working much better for him. It’s Android based so I can do all the same functions with the Google Family Link app which loads right on it and it’s glitchy like the one for this (which also had ads?!). UPDATE: Customer Service for the seller contacted me and has sent a replacement Watch free of charge. I have updated the stars to 4. I will give another update after using the new watch.
