Works really well. I cant think why others have had trouble with this product. It caught its first insect within I hour of turning it on. The nice thing is that you can leave your windows open with no fear of getting bitten by Mosquitoes as they are easily dispatched by the unit. It also seams to get rid of those small thunder flies as well. Get a blue bottle caught inside and there is a huge amount of hissing. I am really looking forward to wasp season! With the hot weather we have had recently its nice to be able to have the windows open and not be bothered my flying bugs. It does need to be cleaned out regularly but this is easy with the removable tray. Insects will weld themselves to the grill but a small paint brush and a gentle hand will remove them easily. Obviously unplug the unit when cleaning. This is a great product that I cant fault in any way.

We seem to have been plagued by flies this year and I hate using sprays, particularly in the kitchen, so in desperation I bought this fly zapper. It works well, I'm really pleased with it and as one other reviewer there is a datisflying zap as another fly is incinerated. A really good product but have only given four stars because the electric cable is ridiculously short.

Great bit of kit- the only thing I would suggest is having the option to buy it with a longer cable? Other than that it’s easy to put together/ hang and it’s very effective

Great little sun lamp for flies. Doesn't seem to kill them though! Had a butterfly trapped in there all day till I took pity on it and had to let it out. If you want a piece of kit to attract a big swarm of flies to it and do little else then go for it!

Having read a lot of differing reviews on this sort of product, I finally opted for this model and the more powerful 40W version as I didn't want the flies dancing round the tubes or to torture the pesky critters. I just wanted them dead, this product did just what I wanted as soon as I turned it on, we have it mounted in our 4x5m conservatory over the kitchen door into the house. There is 2m of cable attached to the lamp unit so more than enough cable to reach the floor, although we have a power supply up by the top of the door. Flies are dealt with by a satisfying crackle, larger flies like blue-bottles really go like a BBQ. We have noticed a lot less flies in the house too, so yes, all our concerns have been satisfied and we are more than pleased with our selected product although we have only had it for 5 days. One thing we have noticed our two jumpy rescue cats, run for cover when the larger victims hit the execution grill, I suspect the crackling noise gives off a sound frequency they are not keen on, still they are not catching & eating flies any more and getting sick, there you go another benefit, lol.

It does what it's supposed to do. However, they've spoiled the ship for a ha'p'orth of tar by only fitting a 1 metre power cable. I will have to open it up and fit a decent length of cable myself. I would have given it 5 stars but for that. LATEST: IMPORTANT: --- PLEASE READ --- PLEASE READ. I've just started to to fit a decent length of cable and I found the live wire inside the 3-pin plug was badly crimped. The insulation was damaged and the copper conductor exposed. Just as well I was putting a longer cable on or I would never have checked the plug. Well naughty!

A great product don't get me wrong. It's write up says hang from a ceiling or place on top of a shelf - great!!! However....... The power lead is so short you could not do as they suggest unless you had a socket at ceiling height!! I've got to pay for the power lead to be extended now so can use it as they say. Shame :(

Really impressed with this zapper - already has achieved a remarkable score! We just wish we`d bought it earlier in the summer, it has really cut down the number of flies. Just one criticism - the cable could do with being at least twice as long as it is - otherwise no criticism at all about it`s construction or efficiency.
