English Phrasal Verbs in Use Intermediate Book with Answers: Vocabulary Reference and Practice (Vocabulary in Use)

I'm a fan of the In Use series, so I liked this book. Wouldn't use it on its own though. A mix of the In Use books makes a really good learning experience.

English is one of the most confusing languages because it isn't just one language. If you are not a native speaker, then usually you start learning the language from books and articles which give you an insight into the more formal aspects of English which are derived from Latin (the Romans) or French (1066 and all that). However, as soon as you arrive in England (or any other English-speaking country), you soon realise that you don't understand a word! Why? Spoken English is derived from the ancient peoples of pre-Roman Britain, the Anglo-Saxons and the Vikings who settled amongst us. Many of these words are short and linked to adverbs and prepositions to create different meanings, both literal and metaphorical. This book gives you all the most important phrasal verbs and is essential to understand our beautiful spoken language.

I like this book. Good quarantine time with it. Ordered more from this series.

The book is perfect to learn all phrasal verbs.

This is a very interesting book aimed to learn the use of phrasal verb, perhaps, the most difficult part of the English language for non-English speakers.

It is good and useful

J'ai un niveau intermédiaire et j'ai acheté ce livre pour enrichir mon vocabulaire et améliorer mon écrit. La méthode est simple et très efficace. On commence par les bases (ce qui reste une méthode infaillible, souvent négligée dans certains livres, et pas seulement d' Anglais). Je recommande ce livre pour les autodidactes, mais aussi pour des professeurs.

El libro es perfecto para estudiar solo. Es muy didáctico y los ejercicios están muy bien escogidos. La calidad de los materiales del libro, aunque no necesariamente a veces es lo más importante, en este caso son muy buenos y esto creo que le da una mayor vida a los libros.

Ho acquistato questo libro per migliorare il mio inglese e devo dire che è stato un ottimo investimento. È ben strutturato, con spiegazioni chiare e semplici che rendono comprensibili anche le regole grammaticali più complicate. Gli esercizi sono numerosi e graduati per livello, quindi si può davvero mettere in pratica quello che si è appena imparato. Mi è piaciuto molto anche il fatto che ci siano esempi pratici e dialoghi realistici, utili per affrontare situazioni quotidiane. È ideale sia per chi parte da un livello base, sia per chi vuole ripassare e consolidare. Un libro completo, scorrevole e mai noioso: perfetto per chi vuole studiare da solo senza sentirsi perso. Lo consiglio vivamente!
