Wanted a pakt, zero disappointment that I got this instead
I really really wanted a pakt. Saw a bunch of YouTube videos for that + similar options. All were between $250-$350. tomtoc was well less than $100. Let me run down why I am so over the moon about this bag (plus some areas of improvement for tomtoc)- Build quality. Top notch. They say it's made out of recycled bottles. Is it? Guess so, but the material does not feel cheap or flimsy. Already been on 2 flights and 1 weekend getaway. Still looks new.- Size. It's 40L, perfect for a long weekend for 2 or a week for 1. I just got back from 5 days away and had clothes + sandals + toiletries + laptop + iPad + cables. Whew!- Comfort. Pretty comfy, and the pads on the back keep my back from sweating. Love that.Design. Got a lot of side looks and friends/family commenting on how swank it looks. One person even thought it was a Pakt. Again, for well less than $100, can't complain.- Convenience. LOVE all the side pockets! Going through TSA and having to shove your wallet, keys, and phone in quickly before the scanner is SUPER convenient. Also, being able to quickly get into the overhead on the plane and pull out cables and such without having to open or move around the bag is great.A couple of points of improvement:- The area where you put your clothes can only be accessed after opening the "tech" part of the bag. I kinda get why, because it would conflict with the side pouches for the water bottle. Me personally I'd give up the water bottle for the convenience of accessing either compartment independently- The utility and convenience of the bag goes through the roof once you pair it with travel cubes. Why not include a small set to get people started? I bought a set of 4 for $25 and they rock.

Fantastic Travel Backpack!
I recently purchased the Tamtoc Travel Backpack 40L for an upcoming trip to Great Britain in April, and it has exceeded all my expectations. The backpack is incredibly spacious, allowing me to pack everything I need without any hassle. The multiple compartments and pockets are well-designed, making it easy to organize my belongings efficiently. The quality of the material is excellent, and it feels very durable. The padded shoulder straps and back panel provide great comfort, even when the backpack is fully loaded. I also appreciate the sleek and stylish design, which makes it perfect for both travel and everyday use.Overall, I highly recommend the tomtoc Travel Backpack 40L to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile travel companion. It's a fantastic investment for any traveler!

After a year, still like brand new
I spent a LOT of time researching 40L travel backpacks before landing on this one. It's a great deal compared to similar backpacks/duffels, especially during sales. I can easily pack 4-5 days worth of clothes and toiletries in here. It's big, but I've never been asked to check this bag and it fits comfortably into overhead compartments on all of the major airlines. It's comfortable, sturdy, attractive (I've had people ask me where I got it), and most of all - it's functional. It doesn't have a ton of pockets, but it's a duffel-backpack hybrid. If you want lots of pockets, this won't deliver. But it has an absolutely CAVERNOUS main compartment that will hold more than you can imagine. It folds fairly flat for storage, which is nice. It's easily cleaned - I had a minor toiletry spill one time and you can't even tell. The bag itself is a bit heavy when empty, but they've invested a lot into comfortable straps and quality materials, so it's a worthwhile tradeoff for me. These pictures were taken today, more than one year after I bought it and 20+ trips later. I don't write a ton of reviews but when packing this bag today, I was struck by how happy I am with my purchase!

Great Pack for the Money
Did a ton or research and $ for $ this bag has been great. Lots of good attributes that you find on more expensive packs - compression straps, dual access to main compartment, trolley strap to attach to rolling luggage, adequate misc compartments, quality zippers, etc. No complaints about the product as it is. Fits in a special niche between the very inexpensive travel packs - material durability, zipp quality, features -- and the higher end packs. I use it to travel about once per month, and expect it to hold up fine for this amount of wear and tear.

Excellent travel bag for under $100
At the time I was looking at this and the MATEIN backpack. The MATEIN seemed decent, as it was more than half the price. But I am so glad I went with this TomToc Travel backpack. I travel with my LG gram 17 inch laptop and it protected that beautifully. It had more than enough space for a few days’ worth of clothing. I really liked the placement of the zippers and the quality of the zippers as well as the quality of the bag itself. It has a nice nice thick material good padding and very clever placement of pockets and handles. I really had a hard time spending this much money on a travel backpack but I am so glad to not spend more on one. This backpack is excellent value for the money and very sturdy. I am sure you get what you pay for with the $300 and $400 backpacks but for somebody on a budget (but not a MATEIN super low budget, lol) this was perfect for my needs. I kept my passport and wallet in the top pocket just below the top handle. So no matter how much I stuffed my backpack my passport was always with an easy reach and never at risk of being bent or damaged even when the backpack was stuffed to the limit.

Great Travel Bag
Bought this to substitute a hard case carryon for a week-long trip to the UK to visit friends. I didn’t want to deal with checking in bags, and wasn’t planning on buying much to bring back. Was able to pack a spare pants, a couple shirts, and everything else I needed for my trip. Dual cupholders were clutch while in commute. I like the main compartment is zippered so everything doesn’t come falling out when you just need to get access to the inner netted pocket. I do like the top zippered pocket but which there was another somewhere. Bag is durable, strong, and comfortable. Fits a cased SteamDeck in the main comportment if that matters to any gamers reading this.
