My chonk cat loves this
We had a similar toy that took batteries, but when that one died I decided to try a rechargeable one. I love this toy. It has several features that keep the cats coming back, especially my chonk that hates to know he's "playing." He stopped engaging with wand toys, which was one of the few ways we kept him active. Pros: This toy has several features that keep the cats coming back. The top clip with the butterfly and ribbons doesn't spin much, but it bobbles around enough to annoy one kitty when he's trying to remain stoic and ignore the toy. The fabric is crinkly and apparently is great to munch on, there seems to be some satisfaction in biting it over and over. The spinning toy has feathers and fluff, and peeks out just enough to be seen, but still mysterious enough to pique the curiosity. The motor has enough power to withstand the pounce and heft of my 17-pound cat: he likes to hold it down so the toy base moves around, then let it go once it's struggling. I attached a picture with it on a sheepskin, I think he feels like he's attacking a much larger animal when he's on it. It spins freely on the sheepskin, with less power than when it sits on a tile floor, but it still goes strong. Cons: Fast mode is too fast on the bare floor. It could be too aggressive for some cats, my smaller one gets intimidated by it. Second is the noise- we try to set it up where we're not going to be bothered, but it's definitely not a toy that can be going at the same time as the TV. Usually not a big deal, until a very sad cat is sitting next to it as we watch a movie. Neither of these is particularly negative, but something to consider if you have kittens or a small apartment. I think it takes a few hours to get to a full charge, I haven't timed it exactly. But the charge lasts for a long time, about 10 days of play in our house. I've had it about a month and a half and only charged it three or four times. I wouldn't recommend this for small cats or easily startled cats, but if you have an active cat, I'd highly recommend this.

Great toy, kittens love it
Our 6 kittens love this toy. As soon as they hear it or see me turn it on, they all pounce on it. They like to run at it from across the room and slide into it like it's home plate lol. I don't think it's noisy. The cover is a nylon type of material, so it sounds like rubbing on a windbreaker jacket, but that's the most noise it makes. Some people can't stand that sound, so that may be why some think it's noisy. The yellow(slow) speed is a bit calm for our kitties, they like the red(fast) & purple(random) speeds best, but they love it no matter what speed, as long as it's moving. The only improvement I'd suggest would be to make the delay for when it turns back on again to be adjustable. 2-3 hours is just too long in between play times, at least for our very active kittens, so I manually turn it back on every hour or so. It would be great if you could have a slider switch to adjust the delay frequency, or better to just have it turn back on when the cats hit it. With how frequently we run it, I maybe charge it about every 3 days. I just plug it in when I put the kittens to bed, so it's all ready for play in the morning. I do really like that the toy will run while plugged in. Some devices won't run while charging, but this toy does, which I think is great. I missed charging it once and it died mid-day, so it was great to be able to leave it plugged in and they could still play with it while it was charging. A fun option would be different cover designs you could buy. It would be cool to have seasonal designs, holidays, funny characters, etc. As well, to be able to buy different toy attachments to swap with the feather and/or butterfly would be fun too. Personally, I don't like feather toys because the kittens like to eat them, and I don't want them to choke, so different non-feather toys to attach would be cool. Regardless, it's an excellent toy as it is, and I would buy it again for my kitties, or to give as a gift to someone with cats. Highly recommended!

Great purchase!
I have a middle-aged boy who wasn't overly active and would only occasionally play with toys. I recently took in a younger rescue, who is clearly a hunter, and wanted something that would pique his interest. To my surprise, they BOTH took to this, after a few minutes of it running, and they play with this constantly. The only things I would critique (and the reason for 4 stars) are: the sensor does not appear to work. After 15 minutes, the unit shuts off and I have to constantly turn it back on. A little frustrating for active playing cats. I have another interactive toy that all they have to do is bump it and it will turn back on. The other issue, within a day, they ripped two feathers out of the wand. Thankfully, I was home when this happened. Other than that, it's a great mat for my boys.

Cats love it
Good but really depends on your cat. My cat has broken 5 and they barely last a week. My mother’s cat has had the same one for over a year now and it’s still just as fast

Update! Doesn’t last
I left my original review because it was amazing…until it wasn’t. My cats adored this toy, but don’t waste your money on replacement feathers, it won’t last long enough to need them. Shortly after I reviewed this, the entire thing died an untimely death. For the price, I expected longer than 4-6 weeks of use. This toy was simple to put together, two pieces clipped in no problem and it was ready to go. It had a partial charge so I tried it out immediately. My four cats (ages 1 year to 8 years) were all enthralled from the very first use. They jump at the moving butterfly occasionally, but the main entertainment comes from the feather that spins underneath the cover. I’m admit, at first the “cheap” feeling fabric disappointed me, but then I realized that the windbreaker sound it makes is part of the appeal. When it turns on, they hear it from anywhere in the house and come running. I did try to charge it with a spare USB C cord I had thinking it would be easier than swapping to the one it came with; it was not. Stick to charging with the cord in the box. It fully charged in about 2-3 hours and it’s been working for a solid 4 days since then. The sensor is the only slight downfall to this toy, in my opinion. It doesn’t seem to always register when the cats come up to play with it. However, if I turn it on and they interact with it, it works fabulously. It also occasionally turns on with no one around, but then they come running to play with it, so that’s not a bad thing. It is extremely durable, I have four cats who play with it, bat at it, and chase the attachment multiple hours of every day. The appearance is exactly as you see in the pictures, and it’s a cute additive to any cat house. The design function is excellent, and keeps my indoor only cats engaged and works as an enrichment exercise too. I texted my neighbor to get one for her cats within hours of having this. I cannot recommend enough for active cats to lazy cats, this has been a resounding success!

motor failure after 4 months of regular use
Overall this product is worth the purchase, but with the price I expected it to last a little longer. Pros: my cat loves this toy. She is very prey driven and loves to "hunt". I appreciate an automated timer. Once activated by the button the toy will be on for 15 minutes, when it turns off it will automatically turn on after three hours. The battery life is very good in my opinion. I noticed needing to charge it about every three days. Cons: it is loud. The material that hides the feathers is synthetic and "swishy". I can sometimes hear it activate in my bedroom with the door closed when the toy is ~15 feet away. Also, this toy did not work on my -pile carpet and needed to be command stripped down to laminate due to my cat sprinting down the hall to play with it. I suggest using Velcro strips so you can remove it to charge. And again, I expected this to last at least 6 months before motor failure.

FANTASTIC!! NON STOP FUN
This thing is freaking fantastic and hilarious! It's great exercise for my kitties. I haven't had a toy that they've been so interested in, has kept them busy and coming back to. This toy has all of my cats (except the fat and lazy one) entertained. It worked right out of the box. In fact I turned it on last night and it has a sensor that will turn itself back on if the cats come near it, and it's 5pm the following day and it's still going strong. I haven't had to recharge it yet. It seems durable, they have gotten a few holes in the material (which I don't care about at all), it's not ruined the material. The material is made out of a vinyl, lightweight, sort of reminds me of a baby's bib. The feather on the spinning toy (the one under the material) has come off twice, but seems like it's made to come off instead of break (see my photo for reference), and no issues with the top spinner toy at all. They seem to prefer the bottom spinning part, maybe entices them like they are hunting. I'm having a blast watching them, one of my cats will sit and watch it, then run into it and slide. SO funny! Great interactive toy, well worth the money. I will update if there seems to be any issues after using for a while. Buy this, you won't regret it.

My cats love it, but it does not last
While my cats love it, it is not durable. The toy slowly degenerates to where it does not work at all. Lasts about 6 months.

Edited update
Out of 5 cats, two especially love this fun toy! I like that it turns itself off after a time, which gives them a break and they don't get bored with it. When they hear it turn back on, it's playtime again! My cats are all over 5 years old, not small kittens so, unfortunately, the feathers didn't last more than a couple of weeks and they broke the arm. The butterfly wings on the top toy lasted a little longer and were also a hit. I had to be creative and reattach the arm with a bamboo stick and new feathers and bind this with electrical tape, which has worked well. Once charged it lasts for days, and is switched on all day, only being turned off late in the evening, which is excellent. They have had a lot of entertainment out of this toy so despite the spinning arm not being as sturdy as it should be, and the feathers being ripped out after a couple of weeks, my improvisation has given them a lot more enjoyment from it and I do recommend this product. It would, however, be great to see an improvement in the design to address this issue for future models, which I would buy again. EDIT: Purchased this a second time but was disappointed and won’t purchase again. Arrived with a broken pin so could not connect lower arm into slot. Got around that by glueing it in, which worked well. However, the toy only lasted for two weeks, as the centre part separated inside and wouldn’t catch onto the lower arm to spin it. A shame, as my cat thought this was the best toy ever!

Great cat toy
We purchased this to stimulate our younger 1 year old cat (who is a bundle of energy) turn’s out our 14 year old was also just as interested. We’ve had this toy for about 2 weeks now and it is part of their daily routine. The younger one fights both the top butterfly toy and the feather, while the older fights mainly the feather toy. After playing with the settings to see what they prefer the “random” setting seems to be the favorite! So far it’s quite durable as the younger one pounces on it constantly and drags it around. I do like that refills are available once the toys will inevitably be used. As one person mentioned it is not motion activated but does work for 15 minutes with an auto shut off and reactivates after about 3 hours, which is actually a plus for us since we don’t have to think about it and keeps the cats interested in the toy.

Great toy – sturdy, rechargeable, keeps them busy (until it doesn’t)
This is one of the better motion-activated toys I’ve tried. It charges quickly, holds up well under heavy use (currently being thoroughly tested by two very energetic Bengals), and the mat’s taken a proper battering without giving in. The stand-up wand is a nice touch – catches their attention easily – and the interchangeable feathers are a big hit. That said, the feathers may not survive long if your cats like to chew and tug, so you’ll probably need spares. I really like that it’s rechargeable – much better than endlessly replacing batteries. It also has adjustable speeds, which is useful for mixing it up a bit. Only real gripe is that it doesn’t turn off on its own quickly when the cats lose interest, which means I end up getting up to switch it off. Minor annoyance, but worth mentioning. Overall, a solid, entertaining toy that holds their attention and seems to be built better than most.

The best toy my cats have ever had!
Gave this to my lovely cats this morning and they are now OBSESSED with it. The toy runs for fifteen minutes then stops for three hours, so they don't get over-stimulated. I wish there were a way to change these timings as my two girls are worn out by it within five or ten minutes, but have since returned to it and shouted at me until I switched it back on again. They just love it. Things did get a bit more heated than my video shows as Luna (the smaller, lighter one) decided to start running at it from a distance, and doing a full belly flop on top of it several times, which meant she could catch both of the dangly toys at once. She also grabbed the skirt and yanked it off the toy a couple of times, so it would be nice if this could be more firmly attached--but I'm sure I can sort that out with a bit of spare fabric and a few stitches. It is quite noisy, as the skirt is a nylon ripstop sort of fabric, and as the underneath toy rotates it makes a whooshing sound. If the skirt were a softer fabric this wouldn't be an issue (and again, I bet I could very easily make a replacement skirt in a quieter fabric). So the downsides are the timings, and the skirt which is too noisy, and too easy to remove. But overall this is a fabulous toy, which my cats both are now obsessed with. I am so glad I bought it!

Best interactive cat toy! He LOVES it!
Our 8 month old kitten loves this!! The auto off after 15mins is great and we love that it will randomly start and engage him when he walks by. He actually loves that he can’t see the feather underneath as it sparks his curiosity, he can just hear the ruffles of the plastic and see it move then eventually he’ll peak under the plastic bit and grab the feather for a little bite. We sometimes take off the plastic bit too & it’s like a second toy to him where he chases around the feather! Highly recommend!! You can also attach different toys instead of the feather to it as well. Basically, anything that can go on the end of an interchangeable fishing pole toy would work. Also, love that it’s rechargeable and that we can charge it and have him play with it at the same time. 😊 Such a great buy!!
