Are they multi-use? How long do they last?

Hi,There are 6 in a box, once you have lit 1 of them, you can't put it out and re-light it. 1 Cobbstone lasts about 1hr 20min.

If fat drips on them do they smoke at all? Mainly asking for using outside a flat, I don't want to annoy the neighbours with any kind of smoke

Yes, if fat drips onto the cobblestone it would smoke , however most of the cooking surfaces do not allow fat to drain , e.g. Grill plate, frying pan and wok.

Could i light 1 and place a mess tin on toptop to boil water?

Yes you could but would be a waste as the mess Tim will boil in about 10min and a Cobb brick burns about 2 hours. Would be cheaper to purchase solid fuel camping blocks.
