POKÉMON DELUXE HOLIDAY CALENDAR - Features 15 2-Inch Battle Figures with Special Finish and Nine Diorama Accessories

Excellent entertainment for kids!!!

My daughter loves this Advent Calendar. The figures are beautifully painted and accurate. I need to get this again next year- Hopefully they will have different characters. The Diarama is perfect to display the Pokemon.

I'm only docking a star for the disappointment that Squirtle isn't Christmas; look at last year's Deluxe one (which I didn't get) it has one, he has a snowball and earmuffs. That has a lot of repeats from this year, so if you got that from last year it's a shame. Bulbasaur and Charmander get to dress up for Christmas but Squirtle doesn't? :( That's a shame for the trio of G1 starters to not all be themed figures. Random Rowlet gets to be Christmas. Just an odd choice to me.And the Candy Canes are miscut. The cut on the two Candy Cane decorations isn't in the middle, it's near the edge and so they just fall right over. And while the decorations aren't really why I bought this set, I actually do quite like to use them especially with this set. And like the non-deluxe from this year the inner cardboard flap/door 'scene'/art is lazy. Unlike the other one it at least looks like a nice full picture, but it pales compared to last year's set which I actually really love the cardboard 'doors' and use for decoration. This just copy/pastes some character art with a white outline, like a sticker, onto a background. Whereas the one from last year the characters fit the backgrounds (as well as the Halloween one from a few years back).The sound/lights and the diorama are amazing. I kind of forgot it had that aspect when I ordered it and it's awesome. Even if I didn't get this until after Christmas. Well worth it.

Der Kalender und das PopUp sind super, aber was mich fast zur Verzweiflung gebracht hat, sind die Batterien. Sie sind einfach zu klein, es wir kein korrekter Konrakt hergestellt. Ich hab sie durch dickere LR44 ersetzt. Die Abdeckung beult dadurch zwar ein wenig, aber Licht und Melodie funktionieren endlich...

Update: turned out, the batteries aren’t pressing hard enough against the contacts and were not engaging with them. So I unscrewed the battery panel and stuck a thickly folded tiny piece of paper on top of each flat battery, to keep them tightly packed under the battery cover. Worked a treat.Originally: It’s a lovely advent calendar, full of little Pokemon characters and a cardboard winter scene set up to display them. Said cardboard decs have a little switch at the back and 3 flat batteries included… which are supposed to make it twinkle. They didn’t.Obvs my child does not want to return the set as he is scared he won’t get his characters back.But for a parent, who spent £45 (!!!) of their hard earned cash, is it unreasonable to expect that for this amount of money the item will work as intended? Feel helpless.
