Overall the glass is nice and heavy (helping it retain heat)
A lot of negative reviews on here are based on people filling to the printed line and complaining that this is only a single shot. That is the whole point - single at the line, and double at the rim. It's astonishing that more people didn't realise this. Also, wash it by hand - the complaints that the line comes off in the dish washer are probably true but honestly, this is not uncommon for printing on glass and washing this by hand takes all of 3 seconds.Overall the glass is nice and heavy (helping it retain heat), the correct width for a standard double-spout portafilter, and the correct size (measured against pyrex jug). It does exactly what it should, very well.

Sturdy shot glass
These are very solid pieces, thick glass bottom and sides, takes a lot of hammering. After a month of daily use, there's no visible markings or flaws on it yet. The measuring line is about 1mm thick, very clear, and goes right the way round the glass. I haven't measured the capacity to the line for accuracy, but it seems to be a dollop more than a single espresso shot, though well short of a double. The glass is also somewhat too tall for my consumer Gaggia machine - they fit under the spout but stand at an angle. But no problem removing them without spills when filled to the line, as the line is well short of the rim of the glass. Overall very happy with these - they look good, are very solid, clean easily, provide an easily readable measure, and are a bargain at the price.

Perfect size for double shots - and yes it's 2oz glass!
For a 'good' espresso, the weight of the liquid you get at the end should be roughly double that of the weight of the ground beans used (called the 'brew ratio'). A double shot of espresso is generally accepted to be anywhere from 14-18g, meaning you should get 28-36g of liquid in ~25 seconds.28-36g of liquid is at most somewhere over the etched 1oz indicator on this glass but still a long way from the top of the glass - clearly this is _not_ a 1oz shot glass, I honestly don't know why some reviewers are claiming otherwise. Perhaps they have never seen a 1oz shot glass.WARNING IF YOU OWN A GAGGIA CLASSIC AND ARE USING THE STANDARD PORTAFILTER: A single one of these glasses is too tall / not wide enough to fit underneath both spouts on the standard portafilter. You could however buy 2 glasses and place 1 under each spout quite comfortably, as each glass should end up with less than 1oz worth of espresso (remember, brew ratio!). For this reason, only 4 stars from me (just because there are a lot of Classic owners out there). It probably fits fine under the Gaggia Baby, which seems to have more space between the portafilter and the drip tray. But I don't own one of those machines.DOUBLE THUMBS UP FOR GAGGIA CLASSIC + NAKED PORTAFILTER: If you are using a naked (or 'bottomless') portafilter with your Classic, this glass is bloody perfect in both width and height. It's nice and weighty too, so doesn't move around with the vibration of the machine.

Strong, well made glasses
These espresso shot glasses feel great to hold and are easy to clean. They're not paper thin and have some weight to them.

Nice glasses
Nice, weighty espresso glasses. I bought two and find them perfect for measuring the perfect shot. These glasses feel nice and solid / heavy in the hand and are perfect for the job for which they are designed.Much better than some more expensive glasses out there.I would wholeheartedly recommend for all espresso lovers.

Excellent! Thick glass which allows me to hold a scalding espresso comfortably in my hand. To get it to and from its filling position on my Gaggia Classic requires a slight tip (the glass is about 2mm too tall to slip in and out smoothly) but I can usually achieve this without spilling a drop of coffee into the drip-tray underneath.I much prefer this to the over-dainty espresso cups I bought with the unit, which now are kept purely for visitors.

This obviously used!
Mine was in a right old mess when I got it. The white measuring line was scratched/peeling all the way around, there were white flecks elsewhere on the glass. There were imperfections within the glass and the unmistakable smell of coffee inside. I've purchased glasses from charity shops in cleaner, better condition. It was going to cost me over 50% of the cost to return the glass in the hope the company didn't play the 'it arrived broken/used or never arrived at all" game. It wasn't even in a condition a charity shop could resell so it's gone straight into the recycling bin. Maybe I'm being harsh and the company would have refunded me but they shouldn't sell such tat in the first place. If that's the quality of product they sell as new, it didn't bode well for satisfactory customer service thereafter. Probably avoid these guys.

Only the best - espresso glass
Bought this a few months ago and have used it almost daily. I have other espresso glasses that were cheaper and do the job equally as well however this glass is the business. It is double sided glass which makes the lines looks slightly out of alignment. Anyway, I do not believe in supplying reviews after only having goods for a day or two - how useful can that be? So, after a few months of usage I would like to add a personal view that this is a great glass and is easily my favourite. I have spent a small fortune on coffee equipment (maybe £1500 on the machine and separate grinder)) so a quality glass was needed to compliment the set-up and this does the job perfectly. Recommended.
