As advertised
As advertised, but be warned, the glue is *intense*. I put this up on a door, it didn't do what I wanted (through no fault of the product, I just was using it for something it wasn't intended for), and the door will never be the same. Five stars, though, because glue is supposed to stick, and wow, this sticks.

not bad
some were hard to remove the adhesive paper and opened up early so couldnt store them for later and they had a strong smell at first but other than that good for the price and may buy more in the future

Problem Solved
We used this product to pad the wall of my sons apartment.(you could hear his neighbor snoring..tv..etc.)We covered the wall with the arts and craft paper so we would not damage the wall. We purchashed (2 boxes total) you will need double sided tape (we used Gorilla heavy duty double sided tape works great) We took our time and placed each foam sauare/ product is great we added double sided tape in each corner of the foam.... yes the wall is totally black but the snoring/noise is gone!! We found a World map Tapestry on Amazon and hung that over the wall looks Great!! Recommend this product great buy! Great price! Ps Be patient ur working with foam when we added the second box we found that hair bonding glue works perfect (foam against foam)/improvise.... we tried tacky glue and other adhesives didnt work..(This product is sealed packed) take the squares out of the box and let them sit for 1 full day...You will be Happy♡

So far im not impressed.
Edit: Came back to add a star. It serves the purpose I bought it for. My basement is already less echoey and I've only put it on one wall so far. Also, some of the thin ones did expand slightly more. I am still disappointed with the inconsistency of the actual panel dimensions though, I put up 2x4 rectangle and they definitely do not line up well. Some of them are off by almost half an inch. Thankfully no one but me ever comes down here so no one else will see how sloppy it looks. ________________________ The tolerances on these are very inconsistent. SOME are close to an inch thick. Many are barely half an inch at their thickest point. I am still going to try to hang them. I only bought them to make my basement have less echo in the finished half. If i had bought these for actual studio purposes or anything like that they would be getting sent straight back.

Excellent product - can't believe people can't figure this out
These ARE the proper size and thickness. They are just shrunk down from vacuum packing for shipping, as they are otherwise quite bulky once expanded. So RELAX. 1. Unpackage them from the vacuum pack wrap. 2. They do have a slight smell to them, but not a strong one (smells exactly like the inside of a new car). 3. Just place them in direct sunlight in front of a window for 10 minutes. Period. No warm water, dryers, or other ridiculous goofy tricks. Just a little bit of warmth from sunlight does the trick instantly. Trust me. 4. They will fully expand in just a few minutes with some direct sunlight. You'll be shocked how "all of that" fit in that tiny little package. 5. They work as advertised, and are the size and thickness advertised. It shocks me how negative some of these reviews are for this product when it's a fantastic product that proves itself as such if the included and incredibly simplistic directions are followed.

A few highs & a one disappointment: They just don't dampen sound
I bought 3 packs of these acoustic foam panels for a basement jut-in where our son games. He's exceptionally loud and our basement is open to the rest of our home so we can hear him watching TV in either our FR or LR. I was hoping these would do the trick. First, installation. I bought the version with the self-adhesion. That works really well- no problems there! I did the ceiling, walls and areas around the TV in a space that is only about 8' x 6' or so. I was able to easily cut this and form the patterns that would look good. The look? These look pretty good when the work is completed. That might be the best quality of this item that is supposed to have some functionality. Quality/consistency: Frankly, some of the pieces were THINNER than others, which I saw across 3 packages. That was maddening. And no, they didn't expand while airing out. I just put all of these such pieces in areas I didn't think were as vital. Which, you should not have to do! DO THEY WORK: Sadly, no. I spent a LOT of money on these and they just don't dampen sound at all. My wife told me not to do it, that it would be a waste of money, etc. I thought she might be right and tried. It didn't work to reduce sound. That said, I'll give it a 2 or 3 b/c it looks good in this space and looks like we are trying. That said, ask yourself: Do you "need" these to work? If so, skip them. We've asked our son not to yell while gaming with friends and that is a work in progress.

Decent alternative for small office
These dampen noise pretty well and mostly kill any reverb/echo I used to get in my tiny office. My only complaint is that the squares arent all the exact same size, theres a CM'ish difference on each square but these are still a great deal for the price.

Not very usefull
It has self adhesive which is very strong. The thickness is 1 cm not 1 inch even after leaving in air for 2 hours. Overall this is pretty useless unless to put this on all walla in your room.the carpet will work as good as this…

Nickel si on l'achète pour ce que c'est
Conforme. Réduit bien la réverbération dans la pièce surtout en enceinte ouverte qui rayonnent sur le mur arrière. A bien amélioré l'écoute. Contrairement à d'autres commentaires ce n'est pas un insonorisant mais un amortissement, Google est votre ami.
