Totally wonderful for the amazing price
I contemplated quite a bit before buying this product due to the -ve ratings that this had for compact flash cards (as I needed it for CF only). In the end I decided I could make a mistake for ยฃ4 - so went for it.The product arrived in a day (with normal delivery)!! Which earned it 1 star. The packaging was compact enough to slip through the letterbox (meaning I didn't have to be at home or collet from the post office - Another starIt has a nice smooth finish and looks very nice for the price paid - no qualms with the quality! - 2 starsIt does read CF cards - perfect for my use! (the final star!)To everyone who has reviewed this item and said that CF cards don't work / you broke your pins - have you considered that you inserted your card the wrong way round? The CF card is actually inserted face down (opp to what's shown in the pic). However, if you look carefully into the slot, it has a thin and thick guides on both sides which line up with your CF card thick and thin groves on the sideof the card. When inserted this way, the card works perfectly.I loved this product for the price!

Great little piece of kit.
Works like a charm, i purchased it just for my MicroSD card which i needed to transfer files to and from. It's compact, light and seems reasonably durable. Great little product for such a low cost. One thing to note which is not a problem for me - the big arse slot at the top of the card, you can see in the item's pic, a big card with ultra on it being put in? That slot is one with pins, and doesn't seem very strong. So that it one thing to be wary of, but if you are getting this for use with those smaller cards as depicted, it'll do just nicely.Works fine on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, didn't need any drivers - it was detected right away and worked without issue.

Super cheap, good quality and nicely finished.
I have edited this review thanks to 'Hoof Hearted"'s comment - Hoof, you were absolutely right, with a bit of extra force the mini USB connector clicks home satisfyingly well. I stand corrected and feel a bit of a fool. However, it does mean that I also feel very pleased with this purchase now. Thank you! My only (rather weak) defence is to say I've only used it twice.I originally said my initial impression of the product was good and I'll leave it there. I've very pleased with it. Apologies to the seller for my original rating. I would now recommend this product without reservation and have upgraded my rating accordingly. For completeness I've included my original review below.----My initial impression of the product was good, it has a nice matt lightly rubberised finish making it feel (deceptively) solid and of higher quality than you'd expect for the price. However the mini-usb socket on the side with which you connect it to a computer is dreadful. It feels as if it's been made too shallow, so the connector sort of sits in it loosely instead of engaging fully. A small knock would disconnect it.That said, it's so inexpensive as long as I'm not going to start using it on the move or more heavily (it was only intended for occasionally transferring pictures from an old camera's compact flash card) it'll probably serve its purpose. I do wonder though if with repeated use the socket will worsen to the point of being too lose to maintain a consistent connection. Somewhat surprisingly memory cards fit very reassuringly into the compact flash socket. I have not had cause to try the other sockets so can't comment on them.I would be hesitant to recommend this to others as that mini usb connector is on the edge of being so loose as to be unreliable, so even a small variation in product quality from one item to the next might mean some of these really are unusable. Given the price I'd say product quality and consistency checking is probably not high on the manufacturers agenda. To be fair, equally I suppose another might have a better fitting socket. Buyer beware. Maybe spend a few extra pounds in the hope of some quality assurance.

Does what it says for a great price
I bought this a few weeks ago as my Belkin card reader had given up the ghost.I initially thought for a product less than ยฃ5 it would be so so but it booted straight away with no problems loading the drivers under XP.I was impressed with the speed, it appears to be quicker than my old Belkin card reader, I have a Fuji camera that uses the XD cards and a lot of card readers are not supporting XD now, This means I can keep my camera going for a few more years !!To sum up a good product, Fast and a very good price.

This device won't read my Kingston 8GB microSDHC card in ...
This device won't read my Kingston 8GB microSDHC card in either of the two small slots (what's the difference between these slots; the card goes partway in in the lefthand one and all the way in in the righthand one); instead it says "Please insert a card in the device". I have tried attaching the device to the USB with the card in it and without the card and inserting it when prompted, but I get the same message. If I put the card into a microsD adapter and put the adapter into its slot it reads it perfectly, but I bought this device to obviate the need for the adapter. The device also reads my xD card perfectly.I would give it 5 stars if it would read the card directly.Does anybody have any ideas?

Perfect
Gone are the days of buying 6 or 7 different card readers for the different cards (SD, MD....) this is an all in one. it feels like nothing as it is pretty small - about size of a credit card only thicker and thiner - but it weighs about the same as a credit card! I would recommend to anyone.I used to take my phone to photo shop once every so often and get my photos loaded on to disc etc and i had to borrow the stores card converter. Now i can load them on to my mac book and put on to discs. The other handy thing is i can now plug this in to my printer and print pics from my phones memory card. I have a HP i got from Amazon which has a screen so its fab. Definitely worth it because of my phone memory card (tiny).Dirt cheap for what it is too - my bf paid about ยฃ15 for a reader just for his phone memory card from Carphone Warehouse. My life is in my handbag - the 3 Ps passport, purse and phone. I also carry my camera. This is so small i can pop in my handbag and i'm totally on the go.

Excellent card reader
Simple plug and play, only thing I haven't got it to read is a Mobile phone sim-card. Comes with it's own cable, which has proved useful for other gadgets also (USB to mini USB) including Tomtom satnav. Only criticism and it's a minor one, is that with so many slots it sometimes takes a few seconds to work out which one to use - there's no indication on the reader regarding which type goed into which slot and which way round to insert the card - but I guess that's the price you pay for having a card reader that does so much.I bought 2 at the time because the price was right - and I'm glad I did.

Problem with eSecure card reader
I had lost my original USB card reader which I use chiefly to transfer photos from my cameras to my computer. When I tried this one my various computers either refused to recognise it or would not transfer the photos. Sometimes I got Windows Explorer to show the contents of the card but it refused to transfer them to my hard drive by drag and drop. In addition it messed up other programmes.I did what I usually do in such cases. I switched off the computer and unplugged it from the wall, leaving it overnight. Next morning, with the card reader removed my computer was back to normal.I got on to Amazon again and bought a different card reader and it worked perfectly.I have no idea what was the cause, but it was cheap to replace
