Hello! This product is in no way affiliated with AOTA. OTReference, LLC is an entirely separate entity. Products for Occupational Therapy professionals do not have to be "approved" by AOTA; however, you will find that things like continuing education opportunities (classes, webinars, lectures, peer-reviewed literature, and other forms) are often times advertised as "approved" by AOTA for the amount of continuing education credits that they are worth (so that people can quantify and verify their continuing education endeavors.) AOTA additionally has an online store where they sell/offer products/books/resources that they have created themselves or that others opted to list on the AOTA store website (I think there's a fee or a process associated with this but I am not positive.) I stand by the massive, foundational, and necessary role that AOTA plays in our profession; however, in a free market/country they do not have to approve every single product/book/resource that is created for the field of Occupational Therapy. I hope this addresses your question thoroughly, as I know I had similar thoughts/questions when I was an OT student trying to get a grasp on how the whole field of OT works!
