The wifi plugs were delivered quickly and on time. I have a couple of other Meross items, I like the Meross Smart devices as the Meross app is very good and intuitive, the device setup is easy and quick. Setting the device to enable Alexa support was also very easy. The Smart plugs are of good quality and will fit next to each other in a multiblock socket without obstruction to the switches. Another nice feature is the ability to turn the status LED off from within the app this is essential if using in a bedroom or in line of sight. Firmware updates are taken care of via the app and are offered when available. This model does not offer current measurement, at the price the features are really good. In the app you make a schedule of different events and times for on/off, a feature that I like is the off after function, this lets you select an amount of time from when the device is turned on before it automatically switches off. I have this set on a water heater, the water heater comes on a schedule but if switched on manually then it turns off after 1 hour, so you can get a boost function. I am really impressed with this item and have not had any issues or drop out, the signal strength is strong even at the extremities of my home.

I've found these sockets really easy to use and reliable. The app is great. A bit clunky when you have a few of these with different routines programmed. You have to be careful with how you label everything and then organise it. However, I can control lights, heating and any other electrical appliance I want from my phone. They need internet and power of course, so if that goes down you can't do anything remotely, but you can tell on the app when they are offline.

Easy to use

Firstly, I found these really easy to set up to start with. Others seem to have had issues with Sky but they connected without any problems for me. There's a little bit of a process to get the plugs set up with Alexa but easy enough. Each plug is given a name of your choice and, once set up with Alexa, you have voice control to turn them on or off. Plug your lamps or whatever into the smart plugs and away you go. That's the easy bit.If you want to set lights etc. to turn on or off at set times, both Alexa and the Meross app use what they call 'Routines' which are actually just the commands to tell the plugs when to turn on or off and at what time. Neither of the two options provide any step by step instructions on how to do this. You might expect a single routine to be able to turn a light on AND off at the times you set but that's not the case. A separate routine is required for each operation (one for on and one for off) although you can apply a single routine to several days.The only problem I have found with the plugs is that they don't recognise British Summer Time. As part of the set up (which can be adjusted at any time afterwards) you need to set your time zone. At present (October) you have to set the time zone to one hour ahead to set the correct time for the plugs. However, if you try to set up a routine in the Meross app, you get a message saying the time on the device and your phone are different. This leaves you wondering which time the device will actually use. It's only an issue with the Meross app but doesn't cause a problem if you set up your routines in Alexa.

First impressions on opening the box: these are quite chunky and substantial. They feel well made and have a nice matt finish to them. Just be aware if you only have a small amount of space to use them (like on a power strip) they may require extra space.Installation: I already have one meross product so I have already installed the app. From memory is it as simple as searching meross in the play store and installing it from there unless you have a QR reader in which case you can scan the first page of the manual and it will take you to the app for installation. Once in the app I plugged in my new smart plug and it started flashing. I pressed the + button in the app it found the plug and asked for my wifi password. typed it in, heard the plug click and then it was done.Use: This is where things get a bit more interesting. The meross app is nice, the response times are quick from pressing the device in the app to it changing state. I am able to schedule, group and automate all the devices in any combination I choose and still manage them manually. Good stuff. However, meross devices are also compatible with home assistant for which I have a sever running. Because I have all manner of smart devices and such I like to run everything centrally. This is a huge plus for me as I am bound by devices that integrate with home assistant (hassio) and meross seem to have a good balance of quality versus price and compatibility.Overall: Really pleased with this purchase. I would recommend to anyone.

Handy plugs, I've tried other brands previously, but after being impressed by their extension cable, I thought I'd try theseThey are slightly smaller than others I have tried, which is always a plus - you can fit them comfortably side by side in a regular twin wall socket, very sturdy and simple lookingThey are so easy to set up, download the app, enter your modem password, it connects and you are done. Once registered, you can install onto multiple devices - no need to go through the setup process again, just enter your account passwordYou can turn off the indicator light if you like which is always handyThe app allows you to set schedules etc. and is very user friendlyI've had no connection issues, there is even a wifi quality reading so you can make sure it's in the best place.
