Product Description About The Blend The Espresso is a seasonally sourced blend of coffees from various growing regions. It’s a homage to the kind of espresso we like to drink and is realised through a careful selection of the best beans from the current crop. We roast this blend relatively light (compared with “traditional” espresso), which allows the intrinsic qualities of the beans to shine without being overpowered by “roasty” or “smoky” notes. Cupping Notes For us a great espresso is sweet, balanced and has notes of chocolate and fruit. This was our brief when we set out to create The Espresso, and we think we’ve nailed it. A medium acidity leads in to notes of ripe fruit, especially blueberry and orange blossom. This is balanced with a rich, rounded, cocoa body and a pleasant, lingering finish. About Roastworks Roastworks are a small family run company based in Devon, who strive to bring the finest quality fresh coffee to the wider market. They do this by personally sourcing the best beans from farms and producers around the world, and reward them by paying a fair price whilst building a sustainable and long-term relationship with them. They then freshly roast in small batches, with one simple aim; to highlight the intrinsic qualities of each bean and to not taint the coffee in any way. To do this they use some of the best roasting machines in the industry as well as some very clever data gathering gizmos to make sure we know exactly what's going on inside the roasting drum so we can accurately repeat the perfect roast. Didn't work with my espresso machine
Was really looking forward to trying this. Unfortunately, it didn't work with my espresso machine - the ground was so ultra fine that the machine failed to make the espresso and just kept stopping after a few drops came out. For reference, my machine is a Delonghi - pretty standard & common. The only way I could get anything out was to only half-fill the puck, and even then it was a struggle for the machine & the coffee didn't taste great as a result. The machine worked fine both before & after trying this coffee - with the grind either done by me (on the finest setting) or by a deli I regularly go to (who also set the grind for an espresso). So it's just the Roastworks grind that caused the problem.I'm sure the coffee is good (I'll take that as a leap of faith). For that reason, my review has three stars as it would be unfair based on a limitation of my espresso maker to mark it down completely. But a word of warning to anyone without a high-end espresso machine .......

Lovely freshly roasted coffee
Beautiful flavour and aroma. Very smooth, worked well with my espresso machine as well as on the moka pot and the cafetiere. Freshly roasted, and came with a roasted on date of only a few days before I received the item, which was stamped on the pack. One of my favourite coffees, hard to find a fresher and nicer one in the supermarket.
