I recently switched from having my home water delivered to taking the 5 gallon jugs to a water filling station myself. This helps save quite a bit of money! I kept the 5 gallon jugs from my former water delivery service and had to remove the thick, clear plastic ring that they had on the bottles in order to get these silicone covers to fit. This is fine by me because it makes the mouth of the jug a bit larger and easier to fill. I just stretch the silicone cap over top when it’s full and it seals perfectly. I haven’t tipped the jugs completely upside down, but I have briefly laid them in their side and there was no leakage at all. There is a little stopper in the middle of the cap that pops inward if you are using a top loading water dispenser so there isn’t any spillage. I use an electric pump with a tube that goes down inside of the jug and it just sits nicely over the cap. I have already save a good amount money by using these to refill my own jugs. They have already paid themselves off. So far they have lasted a couple of months with no signs of decreased quality. If they ever do wear out I will buy more though.

Very impressive and tight fit except if you accidentally knock the bottle over, the lip pops off easily, letting the water spill out. Such as this morning, in my car when I made a turn and the bottle tipped over, spilling water everywhere.

I used these once I realized it was a mess putting it on without. I didn't know these things existed, my husband found them and they helped us so muchp. They come on easily and slip right off for cleaning. I just gave them a gentle brush after each use and then placed on jug. Now a year later they need replacement, they have life, but I find the nasty slimy feeling is harder to get out and I find it unsanitary. I'm a little ocd. Love these

I was tired of the little white caps leaking all the time. So I tried these and they are great at creating a tight seal and preventing leaks. I'm not sure if I would buy them again though.First, right out of the box I could see fatigue lines around the folds. One of the little pull tabs actually ripped off the very first time I was trying to take the cap off. Also, the plugs are not attached to the access point. That means that if I try to pass the siphon tube of a bottom water dispenser, the plug will fall off and just sink to the bottom of the jug. Next, because the plug is recessed under the cap, this lets dust settle on it without being able to clean it up before putting the siphon through. So now you just let whatever settled on the plug fall into the water. I ended up just taking the cap off before putting the siphon on top. Last, all those curves and tight places makes it a pain to wash/clean the cap.These are all issues that just make it inconvenient to use. I'm now wondering if it's just easier to get wet when carrying these around.
