Unreliable Dash Cam
**Update 3/31/2019**After about 6 months of use both cameras stopped turning on reliably, it would take a few power cycles to get them to turn on. I contacted Pruveeo who immediately replaced both. However within a few months the replacement cameras started doing the same thing. Pruveeo has great customer service, however this camera is not reliable enough and I will be looking for a replacement.**Update 3/14/2018**I purchased a 2nd one for my Hyundai Santa Fe GLS. Most of what I already stated still stands true, however I did decided to increase the star rating from 4 to 5. Most of my gripes are only an issue while installing the camera, however once installed this camera is awesome. After installing the rear camera in the Santa Fe, I still had about 3-4 feet of cable left. It is the larger GLS model with the 3rd row seats, so you should have enough cable for most vehicles except a few outliers. Another minor negative for the camera which I was reminded of during the installation is the 12V DC adapter which has a really bright Red LED. This could be distracting at night, I just put a pinhole in a piece of electrical tape to cover most of the LED. I will update my Installation Tips at the bottom of this review with a few more items.**Original Review**So close to a 5 star product, however it fell short in a few areas. That being said, this is a great camera and I will likely buy another one for my other car.I installed this in a 2014 Chevy Bolt, which is a small car. After installing, I had about 7-8 feet of cable left, so it should be plenty long for most vehicles. The image quality is excellent from both cameras. The video files are recorded separately, which I think is ideal. The buttons and navigating the menus I found very intuitive. So far, I have contacted their support twice, they were very responsive and helpful. They don’t have a software version of the manual on their site, however support supplied it promptly. Also the manual does not list any information about the rear camera which has a switch on it. Support explained that this is to mirror the image. The primary issue I had with this camera is the rear mounting system, the camera can be rotated around however you can’t flip the mount to change the direction the USB port is facing. Since I was installing on a hatchback, I needed to use the side that allowed me to angle it more downward facing. I had to rotate the camera which meant the USB port was upside-down in relation to how the USB cable was coming out from the top of the hatch. This required that I put a loop in the cable since it could only be mounted in one direction. The loop in the cable makes the install look less clean. I even thought about flipping the camera in the mount, however after removing the mount cover it has a small ratchet system which meant I could not flip it. I have included pictures to better explain.Another issue is they used USB Mini B instead of USB Micro B. USB Micro B is the type used in most phones and is much easier to get cables for. For the Mini B, I had to dig through my old cable bin to find one so I could hook my laptop to the camera while adjusting the position and angles. The final problem I found is the display brightness cannot be adjusted, this makes it hard to see the screen when in sunlight. All the issues above are small and overall I would still recommend this dash cam system. It is much better than my aging KDLinks X1 Dashcam.Installation Tips:-Before routing your cable, do a little research on where all your airbags are located and what direction they deploy in. This I think is critical for the rear camera cable, you could obstruct the side curtain airbags with the cable. With the force airbags deploy at, I doubt it will be much of an issue, but better to be safe.-Consider buying extra mounting tape, if you need to move either of the cameras you will need this as the existing tape can only be used once: Scotch Extreme Mounting Tape, 1 by 60-Inch, Black -When mounting, avoid any defrost grid conductor lines. The mounting tape will likely destroy the conductors if you ever pull it off.-If you have a hatchback, try to route the cable through the existing wire raceway/conduit to connect to the hatch (see picture).-Have small and medium zip ties on hand, these help with routing and bundling of the cable-If you have to install the rear camera in a way which causes the cable to loop, loop around the camera and use a zip tie to hold in place (see picture)

The media could not be loaded. Bought this dual dash cam for my wife who just began learning how to drive. Overall, this dual setup dash cam is pretty nice—it allows me to record the traffic both in front of and behind my car so I do not have to worry about misplaced traffic responsibility whenever bad luck happens. Also, the resolution is nice as both cameras can record 1080 quality. The dash cams use 3M sticker so it can be mounted to the windshield nice and tightly. In addition, the setup of connection wire is a little tricky as it need to be hided perfectly. Also, you need to purchase your own TF card and remember to format or the dash cam cannot function as expected.

Bought this dash cam to protect myself as the traffic in LA is a total nightmare. The dual camera system can help me record both front and end traffics so I don’t have to worry about getting into trouble at all. The camera itself can record 1080 with nice details. Will consider buying another one for my parents in the future.
