HONG DIAN N8 Red Acrylic Resin Fountain Pen, Iridium Medium Nib Rose Gold Trim Maple Leaf Carving Cap, Smooth Writing Pen with Converter and Metal Pen Box Set

The short version is, I wanted an aesthetically pleasing pen with that antique, inky write, but also something that writes smooth and is low hassle to maintain. This pen checks about every box. It looks nice with my Italian leather journal (maybe a little too fancy but that's okay), has a great weight to it, fits well in my hand (I have medium sized hands), and writes very smoothly. I shouldn't have to do too much maintenance. I purchased Hong Dian ink cartridges to go with it which comes out great. I chose the medium nib to look a little less 'perfect' so my writing in the photo is a little thick. It seems very solid. For the price, especially, this is an excellent pen.

It is a beautiful pen. So glad I saw it offered. It writes smooth with very little feedback. Diamond Red Drafon matched perfectly.

Where else you going to find a pen with Maple leaves? Bought because of my love of Canada. I use often just because it's a friendly pen to have around. Why, just those lovely people to the North of us. Writes well, and everyone oohs and ahhs over it. It only has one function and it does it very well. It writes. (Please don't get me started on the inanity of using the word functionality for a fountain pen.)

I just received my Maple Leaf pen, and I am in love. It is beautiful. I inked it with Diamine Writer's Blood ink; it writes beautifully, and I love the ink color. I am new to acquiring fountain pens, and now I am about to enter the world of acquiring additional ink colors. When I became interested in fountain pens, I watched several YouTube videos and thought pen people are nutty; now I am beginning to understand the obsession.

This pen is a beautiful design, and in the medium nib it's a great, smooth writer with lots of ink flow without being excessive. I'm docking stars as the cap doesn't seal particularly well, and thus leads to ink drying in the pen if not used for, i.e., 2 weeks, which leads to the stutter starts and poor writing. So if it's a daily driver it'd be a great pen but if you have a rotation it's less suited for that purpose. Would give it a 3.5 star rating if I could.

Very nice pen for little money. Writes smoothly and comfortable in my hand. Nice ink converter…can see ink level. Much better than “piston” type converter.

I'd had this in my Save For Later list. Then it went on sale on Prime day. It's a beautiful pen and writes well. It posts securely, but is a bit back heavy. Reverse writing is surprisingly good, smooth with a super fine line. An excellent pen, especially for the price.

It’s nice a pen but it takes a little bit to start going when first using. Even after a cleaning. For the price, I can’t complain.

The medium tip works great and leaves a very legible written words. Pen feels great with the weight and balance.

This is the greatest pen for a Canadian. Awesome colors, perfect weight in the hand, I just love it. When I ordered it, the only nib size available was the Medium. Unfortunately, for me, the Medium nib writes a little too big and wet for my liking. I contacted the vendor and he offered to sell me a replacement Fine nib assembly. I accepted and ordered it. So it's on its way now.The pen still writes well on thicker paper and with a very light touch.I did order another one with the fine blade nib. Love love that awesome pen.

Buyer Beware : This medium nib is really a western fine nib. Disappointing. If you need a medium you must order a broad . Otherwise it is as represented.

DOA, doesn’t write at all. Tried many “tricks” and help from YT, didn’t worked. I envision returning it at the moment…Will update…
