As I Am Curl Color - Flamingo Pink - 6 oz - Temporary Color Gel - Vegan & Cruelty Free

I've been wanting money piece bangs for a long time but I have micro braids that I'm trying to turn into locs so I can't really bleach and dye my hair. I love this As I Am Curl Color temporary hair dye. I got the Flamingo Pink color. It's super easy to use, I just put on disposable gloves to apply. It glides easily. I've gotten it on my face and scalp and skin and it always wipes off easily with water. It smells really good like a mild sweet fruity scent. It covers grays with no problem. It takes about an hour for it to dry down, I don't experience much if any transferring after it dries. It does kinda change the hair texture a little bit cus it's a tad drying and clumping but nothing that was concerning on my braids. It stays put for a long time if you don't wash it out, I've gone 3 days and could have gone longer if I didn't wash it out. It rinses out super easy, I only had a few areas where the color was trapped between my braids after a rinse but it's easy to see and fix. Really fun to play around with, I've put it on my boyfriend who has red hair, our dog, and my armpit hairs for a summer festival, only used about a third of the product so far. Lots of fun just wish they had more colors.

The bottle I received was not the same gel consistency as the other colors I bought from AS I AM. This product is more watery and runny, and when it dried, it flaked off to no end. The color was pretty, but I couldn't keep it in my hair longer than two days due to the flakes and skin irritation I experienced. The bottle has a warning to perform a skin test, and I recommend doing so before applying it to your hair. I found that washing with shampoo gets all the product out of your hair. A simple water rinse won't do. I love the brand and some of the other colors in this collection, but this was a miss in my opinion.

I found that this temporary color was easier to see when hair was completely dry. On dark hair (as expected), if you do not layer it on heavily the color comes out as a very dark teal. Afterwards, touching the dried hair can cause flakes to fall but I found that they didn't stain any of my clothing, bedspread, head coverings/bonnets or even the counters of my bathroom sink. I won't use it for consistent color, but for the outings that it would fit best. Overall a fine product; smell is faint, a creamy consistency and doesn't stain.

Did not stay or show well on black hair. It does have a pigment but it does not last long. On my black hair, the mint and lemon look like glitter. 24 hrs later after applying, it has completely come off and rubbed away on my hair wrap. It was also so thin it was like doing my hair with water. Do not buy any of this stuff.

Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for this shade of pink. The application is wet and I would recommend wearing gloves. I used a little over half for my entire hair. It also has a very nice smell.

I have used other temporary hair wax brands and this one has been the worst. The color isn't bright and doesn't saturate my hair as I expect it to. Id pick another brand in the future.
