Here is a truly handmade Sterling silver unisex ring with a lab created star in a naturally mined Sapphire mounted in a handsome solitaire style, design #347 of my online selection catalog. This design features a filigree bezel with a halo of twisted wire filigree, high character. I selected this dark blue gem weighing 1.16 carat, a 7.5 x 6.3 x 2.3mm oval cabochon for this solid design. The star is surface diffused into this natural corundum, complete with six rays, is high in brightness, is well centered and is medium high in sharpness. The stone is opaque and may be color enhanced. It has no surface flaws visible without magnification and shows a striking floating star. Sapphire has a hardness of 9 on Moh's scale and is tough, especially in a cabochon form, plus with the entire ring being hand hammered and not plated, this one will likely stay great looking a long, long time. Overall this is a secure mounting but one should avoid wearing any ring while doing hard physical work. This ring size is a 6¼ in the USA, inside diameter of 0.658 inches or 16.71mm, the inside circumference is 2.07 inches or 52.5mm, in the United Kingdom, Ireland Australia and New Zealand it is a size M, in India, China and Japan it is a size 12, and in Switzerland it is a size 13.4.
