Functions well
Quality made material, came with a replacement filter, was easy to install. We used it for the hot water line coming out of the hot water heater to prevent any particles in our house water line. We put a shut off valve on the line before the filter so we can turn the water off at that point to service the filter. We also have one that is used for the water line going into the heater to keep particles out of it so the hot water heater gives us few problems.

Must-Have Pre-Filter That Saves My $200 Whole-House Filters
I installed this pre-filter ahead of my whole-house system (where replacement filters run about $200 each), and it’s been an absolute game-changer. Here’s why: Extends Filter Life: Captures sediment and debris before it ever reaches the main filter, so I’m no longer replacing those expensive cartridges every few months. Built-Tough Construction: Heavy-duty housing with leak-proof seals—no pressure loss, no worries. Easy Installation & Maintenance: Clamps on quickly to existing plumbing and the cartridge swaps out in seconds. Immediate ROI: Paid for itself by preserving one expensive filter already—best investment I made in my water system. Room for Improvement: None—this unit delivers exactly what it promises. I have zero suggestions!

High maintenance
Great design on these. Given the tiny overall size of the unit, the flush feature is an absolute must! It is built completely with high-quality components, and it comes with everything needed to plumb it directly into an existing line, so I think it is a great value. However, the little tablets it has for reducing scale are wicked nasty from a down-stream water quality perspective, so I had to ditch those right off the bat. In addition, they are extremely high maintenance in terms of trying to maintain water flow through the screen when you have any degree of debris that is in the water. The small stuff actually sticks into the screen, and these particles do not flush out with the valve, so I find that I need to remove the housing every week or so to blow it out from the inside in order to maintain decent flow. Generally, I flush it daily and blow it out every 7-10 days. Having well water that consistently supplies some fine silt into the water, I may be further down the particulate spectrum than those whose particulates originate from the piping itself (as is the case with, say, city water supplies), but I find this frequency annoying. It's way better than replacing a disposable filter every 2-3 weeks, though! I installed mine just upstream of my disposable filter, and I only need to replace it every three months now (strictly based on volume of water filtered versus a lack of flow through it). In that sense, I'm pretty sure it has already paid for itself after only three or four months of use. If the manufacturer provided a backflow loop with it (or recommended installing one), I think that would go a long way to alleviating the pitfalls of the tiny size of the unit. Doing so would allow the flush process to blow the water out from the *inside* of the filter screen instead of the outside the screen. In this way, it is likely one could go years without ever having to pull the housing off for cleaning or replacing filtration components.

A must have
A must have for every well, solid brass construction, very sturdy feeling for sure. Valves and handles feel like quality. Filters are super easy to change if you install shut off valves on both sides. Super fine filter worked great but slowed water fall after a few months. It’s an ultra fine filter so I expected that. I replaced it with the larger micron one included. Buy it.

Great value for the money.
Throughout the installation process I found this pre-filter to be of decent quality. I ordered a 3/4 in and I received a pre-filter that had 1 in MNPT connectors on the housing and it included a screw-on coupling type connector that turned the 1 in into a 3/4-in MNPT connection. The most puzzling part of installing using the 3/4 in coupling connectors was the lack of material to be able to tighten the couplings into the rest of the existing pipe architecture. I came to these reviews several times seeking advice from other people and I didn't see any solution but I did see that there were a few others that were confused like I was and were experiencing the same issue. So I will pass on this tidbit of information. The 3/4-in couplings can be tightened quite well by using a special wrench that goes inside the lumen of the 3/4-in connectors. Inside the lumen you'll see that there is two opposing ear like structures. I included a picture of the wrench that you'll need in order to be able to tighten these connectors with appropriate torque. I went to my local plumbing store and was introduced to this new tool as I had never used one before. I used the fork end of the pop out plug wrench and was able to adequately torque down the connectors. I hope that helps anyone else like me that was looking for a hand up. I haven't finished my system yet, if something changes my feeling about this pre-filter filter I will update my review but as of right now, I think it's a great value for the money.

Works well
My home has a well and periodically (like after heavy rains) sediment is pulled into the house's plumbing system so that faucets and appliances need to have their sediment screens cleaned often. While having other work done, I had my plumber install this whole-house sediment filter. Works great! It's been installed for a month or so and I haven't had to clean out any of my faucet or appliance filter screens. I've also gone through the recommended monthly flush, which was really easy to do and was very effective in flushing trapped particles out of the filter. This product is small and compact, as you can see from the photo. It comes with metal filters in two different sizes: 40um (for city water) and 200um (for well water). The filter was easy to install in the housing - it only took 2 or 3 minutes and then I was up and running. UPDATE: I have now had this filter installed long enough to go through the filter cleaning process. Last month, I pulled the filter, performed the recommended vinegar soak and clean and reinstalled the filter. No problems at all and the removal and reinstall of the filter in the housing was quite easy to do. Afterward, no leaks. This filter is definitely performing as expected.

Great device to protect drip irrigation systems
Excellent device is exactly what I needed for city water to keep my drip system operating at top efficiency. I did not use their 3/4” adapters I used a series of 3/4” brass npt to npt adapters or npt to ght adapters and connected everything together with teflon tape and pipe dope over that. No leaks! Now when I see grit I can just flush the valve. This circuit runs to 4 wine barrels with golden goddess bamboo and drip hoses. Works as imagined and does not clog. The system also has a pressure reducing valve and a RAINPOINT WiFi controlled water valve so everything is controlled by an app that I can adjust on my phone.

Quality built and absolutely worth it!
I draw water from a well that’s 1000’ deep and the pump hangs at 400’ deep. The water has always been crystal clear, however since the “atmospheric river” of rain fall and exceptional snow pack in the Sierras, I’m now experiencing sand and “fools gold” at all my faucet screens. It was to the point of the washing machine and shower screen having to be removed and cleaned daily! ( not fun when you’re just trying to take a late shower after a hard days work on the ranch). So I found and settled on this one because of its price, size, and adaptability. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and the unadvertised fact that the 1” adaptors are actually silicon washer unions! The entire filter body can be removed! The one oddity is that the blow down ball valve is in the off position when the handle is parallel with the flow. (Pointing down) this is opposite of all other ball valves on planet earth! I’ve added a bypass for serviceability and convenience to the house in case it froze and broke or started to leak or just so I don’t interrupt water service to my family while blowing it down or removing the filter screen to clean it. I have 40 years experience with soldering and plumbing/ piping, so this was second hand to me, but hire a plumber or pipe fitter or use “Shark bite” fittings and try it yourself. You will need a lot of materials you might not have if you do try to install it without plumbing experience. The pics are before and after install under the house ( to help protect from the rare freezing temps) and to also give an idea of the amount of materials needed to do a proper 3/4” copper hard line install with bypass. The full days work was absolutely with it and I will only have to blow down the filer from now on and all the home point of use screens are clean!! YAY!!!

It works great!
Installation was easy, I installed it to take out heavier sediment ahead of another finer filtering unit. Ideally captures the sediment, and I just purge it every few days. It's small in size though doesn't have to be larger to do the job.

Really well made
Superb product. Robust and very well made giving the feel of solid quality. Fits existing plumbing beautifully with barely a hint of PTFE tape needed. Highly recommend this one.
