Effective, secure around pets, exact same as YOU see used at many commercial buildings.
The Protecta LP are better than others I have tried. LP stands for low-profile, and they will slip under pallets, etc. . I live in a "hillside" area that has critters. These are excellent quality mid-range price point rodent bait station. I often see this exact same bait station around commercial buildings. There are heavier duty ones like Wilco Distributors 39000 Bait Station that cost twice as much. I have owned a Wilco for years and use around my big dog. These are quite sturdy. There are cheaper, lighter ones, dirt cheap, that are as stable as a balloon in a breeze. These are cost effective and the real deal. They last outdoors. Being able to open and lock these is a great feature for replacing or examining baits. I assembled/baited and shook vigorously, and could not get the bait out. The keys work fine. The bar secures the baits. They do work and in a few days I stopped hearing rats and saw one dying. These are for great outside, garage and shed. I use smaller ones inside. If you have a rodent problem, having these around the outside of your house is evidence that you are combatting rodents, and will keep you within code. You can glue them to pavers or put a brick or rock on top if you want. I use these at my rental houses, too.Tip: if you lose a bar, you can get heavy pliers and a wire hanger, and make your own, cut as long as will fit, bent at both ends after you put bait on it. Then securely place into the station. You NEED to check and replace consumed bait blocks about every 7 to 90 days. I checked mine after six months, all 9 of mine outdoors were EMPTY. Checking the bait stations often will help you gauge your rodent problem and progress. When I found all mine empty, I refilled them and ordered some more. A bucket of the bait blocks is very handy to have on hand. If you have a rodent problem your baits will disappear (they get eaten) and your rodents will disappear, too (they die).I very highly recommend that you use one or two of these window units in your string of bait stations: Tomcat 0370910 Tier 1 Refillable Rat & Mouse Bait Station. I have one near my front door under a bench and can see it every day. Much better than guess work. If one these is empty it is time to check them all.Throw any dead ones rodents find away, they are toxic and you do not want your pets to eat them. Use a plastic bag over your hand, then turn it inside out with the rat inside.Another tip: you can fit 8 bait blocks in ONE station, by not using the bar at all. To be responsible ONLY DO THIS BEHIND LOCKED GATES, WITH A VERY HEAVY OBJECT ON TOP. And not do it if children of any age are around. The baits will be able to be shaken out. Be aware and thoughtful of this danger. See photos.Yet another tip: Do not ever cleanout bait stations. If they are empty when you check, they are working great. Rattiness puts rodents at ease to reenter. Clean perfumed stations will alert rats, and they will avoid for a while.

Great price for commercial level quality.
Found rats in the house and called the pest control company. They come out and sign me up for a quarterly $75 service to simply put bait stations around the house and monitor it every 3 months. He showed me the boxes and made a big deal on how the stations were childproof and that he had the only key to get into them. So basically he wanted $25/month to open the station and put rait poison into them. He was going to place only 2 stations around. Since I wanted no more rats, I was surprised he didn't place more traps around but I guess he didn't want to use up the bait. Being surprised at what little they were going to do, I declined the service and went online to be pleasantly surprised that I could buy 3 stations for about $10/station. So I purchased six of these stations with better poison than what the pest control company was going to use and I saved a ton of money. I got the same stations that the commercial guys use with a key for safety and now all I do is walk around every month or so and replace the bait on my own. Easy and I highly recommend.

well designed and professional quality
These are well designed and professional quality bait stations. It would be hard to beat the price. They require a key to open, so they are relatively safe from tampering. They can be screwed down, though you might need to drill a new hole for some mounting positions. They come with vertical and horizontal bars, so you can choose whichever works best for you. I chose the vertical for easier loading. They are bait stations and they do what bait stations are supposed to do. Not much more to say.

Best all around solution for mice
These are the only things that really work in proventing mice. Place these around the outside of my house and haven’t seen a mouse inside my house in over a year. In the summer however I do see dead mice outside. I assume they eat the poison and die. Overall amazing product. Same stuff they use outside the hospital I work at.

Perfect for home use
These are sufficient for home use when you check them regularly they are not heavy duty like commercial ones and not meant to be left out and ignored

Effortless and effective
Easy to use and we finally got the bait station opening key. Crooks that installed them for insane price before, of course, didn't leave any keys so that they would be summoned back for another effortless job. These are nice to have around the house, and the pets can't get in (unless your pet is a rat or a mouse).

I like these a lot
I like these a lot. They work really well, they are quite secure, and they seem to be doing their job. The set came with one key to open the 3-pack, so don't lose it or you're in trouble. Our chickens haven't gotten into these, only pests that we don't want around.
