The Odyssey: A Graphic Novel: Homer's exciting ancient Greek myth told in pacy full-colour graphic novel form for YA readers

I bought this for myself years ago and loved it. Faithfull to the original, and such a tremendous work! Imagine over 200 pages of thoroughly illustrated images, well researched, several per page! You can see the love for the originialI introduced it to my 6 year old son half a year ago, and he reads in it every day. I have read it out loud for him 2 times all the way through. His favourite book of all books is the Illiad by Garerth Hinds (which I have read for him every day for months now at his request, some passages he just cannot get enough of). It also made me pick up the original Homer again, appreciating it in a new way

Bought it for my 11 year old grandson who doesn't read much. He loved it! the illustrations are dynamic and gripping and it gives a very wide jouirney though the Odyssy. It includes incidents that I was not aware of, getting across the complex emotional and spiritual aspect of the story.

It Great worth a read

The Odyssey: A Graphic Novel makes Homer’s classic story way more fun and easy to get into. The artwork is awesome and really brings Odysseus’s adventures to life. It’s a great read for students, mythology fans, or anyone who wants a fresh take on an old classic. I have given it 4 stars because I haven’t finished it yet.

This graphic novel was a perfect way to introduce my five year old son to reading and ancient Greek myths. The pictures allowed him to visualise the story and therefore better understand the plot. He could associate the text easily with the correct character as the pictures aided his understanding and at the same time helping maintain his interest in the story. The graphic novel is lengthy so it represented good value for money and allowed the author to retell Homer's epic in a thorough way. The artwork was skillfully drawn, however it was a little bland. But this is a very minor negative of what was overall, an excellent purchase.

Bought as a gift for a friend. They were happy! At a glance, seems good quality. Happy days.

An amazing adaptation of the Odyssey which shows Odysseus magical voyage and his murderous revenge.The book is full of colourful and interesting drawings which very much suit the story and setting of the book.This book is an easy and enjoyable read,a must have for anyone interested in classics and for anyone who wants a brief and clear summary of the Odyssey.

The illustrations are just stunning and the text gives a perfect flavour in a very abridged form of The Odyssey. My ten year-old daughter has devoured this and is now reading all she can lay her hands on to do with myths and legends. I'm now reading it too (having studied it in its original ancient Greek form at school...) and loving it. Will now go and order it for other friends and family, plus other books by Gareth Hinds.

One of my favourite stories illustrated in a graphic novel format. The art is exceptional and the story speaks again in a way I never expected.

A must read ilustration book

I was shocked after I flipped a few pages. There are many naked pictures and pornography. Definitely not appropriate for young kids or youth. Need to return immediately.
