Just what I needed

So this thing works. The way it works it it has a thick wire as a heating element and when you hit the load button it literally creates a high resistance heating element. So when you use it for the first time don't panic when you see smoke come pouring out of the top. It is just that wire burning off oils. I don't know if this is how they all work but it does work. Make sure you do not block the vents.

Unit works good but clamps are not durable enough.

the meter readings and "graphics' were easy to use but both clamps simply came off in my hands when i tried it use them. After the first one fell off i though i could recrimp it with the handle off. Nice temporary fix but not what i expect from a new unit from amazon.

For years I have been hauling questionable batteries to the local parts store for a free check. This consumed a lot of time and of course the parts store guy was thrilled if I didn't buy a battery from him. This tester is very basic but tells me what I need to know.

Item works well, unit is just as good as the one I got from harbor freight

Have had to mend it myself with new switch and rewired inside...Not impressed.
