I bought this product for a business trip to Asia. The business card ritual there is a bit elaborate and I wanted to have something classy, yet feminine, that I could use in a professional setting. I like the fact that it's so nice that on my trips to Asia, I can subtly how important my cards are because I have such an elegant holder. (Of course you can use it anywhere, I just mention Asia because business cards are given more importance there than they are here in the U.S.)First of all, the packaging for this product was amazing - I actually felt bad about opening and throwing away the packing because it almost appears to be meant to give as a gift. Secondly, the business card holder is absolutely gorgeous and even though I have only been using it for a few weeks, I have already gotten several compliments.It seems very solidly built and I believe that it will last for a long time. My only advice about purchase is that it comes from Korea and therefore don't expect it to arrive overnight. I really enjoy it and if I ever get sick of the design, I would buy another one from the same company. More likely is that I will be purchasing similar ones as gifts for other women who want a card holder that doesn't look like the one that every other person in the room has... especially if you're in a room full of men!Edit November 2013: Since buying this, I have used it in many regions other than Asia and have gotten more compliments than expected. Not only am I pleased with the purchase and surprised at the number of compliments, but I plan on buying more as gifts. Not to mention that it's been tossed around my purse, bags, and briefcase for about 140k miles and 25 countries this year and still looks brand new. LOVE ITEdit August 2015 - still going strong with no signs of wear and tear.. this thing has been all over the world and looks great!

I bought this card holder back in 2011 and I am still very pleased with it. The cover is so pretty and always elicits a happy feeling when I look at it. (Who would've thought a business card holder could reliably elicit such a positive feeling?! Not me.) I just took pictures to include with this review. Keep in mind that my pictures are of a case that's more than 8.5 YEARS OLD. It now has a little discoloration around the inside edges, which may be water damage from a fire we lived through last year. Certainly worth stating that the case was in impeccable condition when new.As at least one other reviewer noted, this is not REAL mother of pearl. I think it's actually a (pretty) sticker that's been put on the case... although, admittedly, I didn't even notice that it was only a sticker until investigating it closely today.If you are looking for a pretty business card holder and like the picture (and are not expecting real mother of pearl), then I think you'll be happy with this purchase. I still am :)

The chief consideration in my purchase of small, useful items from Amazon is that they also be objects of art. I find myself accumulating small collections of elegant pens, beautiful lighters, artful figurines, stained-glass lamps, and lovely, pocket cases. If I were a man of substantial means, which I most definitely am not, I would be drawn to fine art and beautiful gemstones, but a person of almost any income level can apply good taste to more prosaic purchases. Among pocket cases, I am partial to those decorated in mother-of-pearl, such as those sold by Antique Alive and others.I have purchased the beautiful cases with mother-of-pearl reproductions of Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Gustav Klimpt's "The Kiss." Both are luminous and deep, and of great beauty. I've also purchased cases in mother-of-pearl depicting white and orange tigers, and artful mosaics. Not one of these mother-of-pearl card cases has been a disappointment. They are soooo beautiful! I love those which I shall keep for my own collection, and I am confident that those I present as gifts to my loved ones will be well-received. They are beautiful, solidly made, and useful.

Very nice gift.

This looked even more beautiful in person. It does not look cheap, it has a quality and expensive look to it. I am using it for business cards. I do keep it in the pouch it came in. I do not want it to get scratched in my purse.

Bought this case for credit card protection. It holds about four cards; three is better. The interior is fairly shiny and can be used as a mirror in a pinch. The cover is beautiful. It's a thick puffy type sticker but is nice quality and the case frequently receives compliments. The colors are lovely.After about 1 1/2 years, the pin holding the two sides together started to work itself out. I was able to push it back in, but it didn't quite fit properly afterwards. I've had the case about 2 1/2 years now and the sticker is just now starting to come loose on one corner. The case has done its duty protecting my cards and overall I'm pleased with its function and appearance so will be order another, switching to a different design. Would recommend.

Good quality and quite antique but cannot hold more than 4 cards

Had my eye on this when I spotted it on Etsy but as usual with Etsy the pricing was over the top!! Came across this looking for a cheaper seller, never thought to check Amazon. Can't rate this highly enough, its absolutely beautiful. Packaged very well and delivery was 3wks. I've had numerous compliments already. Can't wait to purchase another! Too many items to choose from!
