Great for Trips or low maintenance watering
Love it! Just make sure you set it up properly. I feel some of the negative reviews are due to improper setup. It did a great job keeping the soil damp without water logging my plant. Overall my mini rosebush looks super happy after returning from a month away! So much so that I decided to leave it in after I returned. It is also pretty easy to set up. Some tips are play with the reservoir placement and buy in advance so you have time to do so if it’s for a going away trip. I originally had the water reservoir placed higher than my plant and the blumat too close to the edge of the pot, which completely flooded it. I reset it and found the sweet spot was about level with my plant with the blumat moved closer to the center of the pot. Make sure you watch a tutorial on how to set it up and adjust according to your plants needs.:)

This really works!
Having just returned from a 3-week holiday to find my plants looking healthy and happy, I'm extremely pleased with this product (if anything, they look healthier than when I left). I spent a considerable amount of time researching self-watering systems, but this was the only one that had consistently good reviews, and with good reason. It was very easy to set up. You just need to make sure that you use large enough containers that hold plenty of water; I monitored the system for a week before I left and was surprised at how much gets used up. The only criticism I have is that I wish the pegs came in small, medium and large sizes; two of my plants are really tiny so it was a bit difficult to fit the pegs into the pots, whereas I had to use 2 pegs in each of my larger plants.

Blumat Classic Automatic Plant Watering Stakes are AMAZING!!! I received them, followed the directions, my plants have never been happier. Here are my tips as per directions and reviews…. 1) Make sure you try them for at least 2 weeks before your planned vacation to make sure they are set up correctly. 2) make sure to lightly sand entire (pottery) surface of stakes 3) soak stakes and tops (attached to tubes) in a container for 1 hour 4) leaving both pieces in the container with water, make sure the stakes are filled with water (while you are holding it under the water) and place cap on and off several times until all the air has been released and there are no more air bubbles coming out of the end of tube. Watch carefully for this while all parts are submerged. 5) after watering your plants the “traditional” way, place stake into soil gently (without disrupting plant roots). Depending on the size of your plant, you might need additional stakes. 6) place the end of tube into container with water (depending on how long you are gone, the container should be large enough to hold a sufficient amount of water). ***after set up, you should notice water decreasing from the container. Keep in mind, if your soil was wet initially, your plant will require less water from the stakes. Once the soil is no longer wet from the “traditional” watering, you will notice your plant “drinking daily” from the stakes. If you see that one is not working, remove from soil, rinse, sand the stake again, soak, place cover on and off again several times (while your holding both pieces under water) until no bubbles come out of the tube anymore. Then place the stake in your soil and try again. The first time I used these for my plants (out of town for 5 weeks) I put all my plants into my bathroom, just in case the system did not Work properly. I wanted to make it easier for my neighbour to water everything in case it was no successful. (I had someone stop by weekly to make sure everything was ok). I also bought large buckets from Home Depot (approx. $3 each) so the plants were sure to have enough water. It worked perfectly!!!! My buckets were large enough, that my neighbour never had to add extra water. The plants “took what they needed”. When I returned home, my plants looked green and so happy. Actually better than “traditional” watering. I took them out of the bathroom and placed them all back where they belonged throughout my house. I was so happy with the results, I’ve decided to permanently “water” my plants with the stakes. Much easier and the plants love it! Last 4 pictures are plants in their permanent locations with stakes set up. I check water levels and add as necessary. Super easy!! It’s a little time consuming to set up initially, but well worth it!!! Plants will ❤️ You and you will save time in the long run!!! It’s been a month since I’ve returned and my plants are thriving and sooo happy!!! HIGHLY recommend! Read other reviews for tips!!! I have a lot of plants so I ordered 2 sets.

They really didnt work great unless the water source was twice as high as the top of the planter.

Geschenk.

I've struggled with getting them right for house plants - 3 of my plants doing great, 2 have had way too much water coming through (my fault as no time to try and rectify). I have been working a lot lately and haven't had a chance to get outside to water the plants - consistent 35 to 40 Celsius every day. I've got half of my flower bed (pictured) set up with blumats and half without and you can clearly see the side flourishing! I'm very impressed.

I am only using one of these self-watering stakes at this time (I only have one plant in my loft), but I love it. This is the small size and it is perfect for my Shamrock plant. Shamrocks can be a bit temperamental. I set it up and tested it on a two-week trip to Egypt. When I returned I found the plant flourishing, so now I use it all the time. No need to water the soil, I just refill the reservoir - the stake takes care of the rest. I am completely satisfied and so, it seems, is my Shamrock.
