Cable and X-Force, Vol. 1: Wanted

Cable and X-force is not hopeless
NO SPOILERSCable is back ! I have always been a big fan of cable and have never been able to commit myself to a ongoing series of his and now I have and the verdict is YES!Best choice I ever made since forgiving tony stark for the secret invasion. This series jumps right in and drops you in the thick of things with cable assembling a team of varied mutants to stop a massive disaster from occurring! The action is balanced by the covert spy work and I find this team suits both.I also enjoyed the new group this series follows fresh characters that haven't had as much spot light as some others (it's so nice to find a team wolverine isn't a part of) but don't get me wrong I love wolverine but seeing a character like doctor nemesis get some attention is nice as it allows me to get to know a second tier x-men character a little better. It's a great first volume and I am committed to seeing where cable and x-force goes I hope you do too.

X to the bone
Spinning out of AVX, this title focuses on Cable recruiting a new X-Force to go after threats to the world, as well as to the new mutant population of Earth. I admit Im not a big fan of Cables apparent new power of future visions, but perhaps I will warm to it with time. The rest of the cast is good enough, Forge and the Dr nemesis have a really fun bit that climaxes with a giant robot vs giant scorpion fight. Hope Summers is also here, and while I'm unsure what she has left to do after AVX, she and Cable have a decent relationship that I didnt hate. Collosus is wuite the sourpuss and broody this volume, but I've come to accept that he might just not be that interesting a character.

This is a very good series, good developments of several characters
This is a very good series, good developments of several characters, most notably cable with his foster daughter hope, nemesis and forge were awesome, only one I think was written poorly was domino, felt her character was off and very shallow, but that is typical normal marvel female heroes, colossus was ok, but kinda dragged down by the the domino storyline. Liked the developments with x force versus' shield and X-Men. Very good tension. Good humor as well.

Great
This is probably one of the top 5 best series of the whole marvel now restart. Loved this collection but the end really pissed me off because of one of their decision's after the mistake! Won't go into details. The only thing that bugged me was the package was jammed into my mailbox leaving a bend in the middle of the book

Cable isn't as fun of a character anymore with how he's been altered ...
review on the comic itself: the story was "okay". Cable isn't as fun of a character anymore with how he's been altered in here and the team dynamic isn't really interesting as of yet.

A mixed start for an X-Force title that shows promise
No Marvel publishing roster - and certainly no batch of X-titles - is really complete these days without an X-Force, and Marvel NOW! gave us two. But whereas Uncanny X-Force is a pretty confused beast which tries to pack too much in, Cable and X-Force has a tighter roster and a simpler premise. In short: Cable is having visions of the future which promise various shades of death and destruction, and to avert disaster he assembles a team consisting of X-Force perennial Domino, mad scientist Dr Nemesis, Forge (who for some reason, Cable is calling "Skitch"), and an even more moody than usual Colossus, whose powers and emotions are on the fritz thanks to "Avengers vs. X-Men". Unfortunately, their first mission is a qualified failure, leaving them exposed to accusations of being the perpetrators of a terrorist attack. As soon as it assembles, this is a team of wanted alleged criminals, dodging the law (and the Uncanny Avengers) even as they struggle to stop Cable's increasingly doom-ridden visions from coming to pass. This isn't quite "Mad Max meets Ocean's 11", as the cover blurb claims. This isn't really a 'heist' book; it's one which at heart is focused on Cable, who, now that his daughter Hope has started to fulfil her destiny as the mutant messiah, seems rather to be in search of a role. His longevity and possible pointlessness is hinted at by writer Dennis Hopeless, as Cable laments that he had kinda hoped to be able to retire, but because of the visions driving him, finds that he can't do so. He also creeps around after Hope, checking in on her as she attempts to - or rather, is forced - to live a normal life with an adoptive family. As he tries to reconcile all this - and the fact that his visions are slowly killing him - he veers from reactive action to reactive action, trying to stay one step ahead of the carnage he foresees. The Cable stuff is good - and, in a knowing nod to some of the more ludicrous aspects of the character, he even gets a new Liefeld-inspired gigantic cyborg arm that shoots rockets. It's good to see time spent, too, on the consequences for Colossus of "AvX". Rasputin has always been a broody, occasionally morose figure; here he wrestles with his behaviour when he had the power of the Phoenix, and resists forcefully when X-Force has to take lethal action to stop greater disaster. This isn't an X-Force where everyone stabs first and asks questions later; this group worries more about walking the line. There are good moments here - Forge's pullback from brain damage into sanity, the Cable/Hope dynamic, and Dr Nemesis' ongoing Deadpool impersonation included. That being said, the way in which the narrative is structured can be a little confusing. We veer back and forth between the aftermath of the alleged terrorist incident and several days prior. The various visions which the team are responding to seem disparate and there isn't really a hint of any connection (at least at this point). Presumably the the story is building towards an overarching threat, but beyond a random appearance of a Deathlok, there's little foreshadowing. It feels like the introduction to this series could've done with a little more thought - but Hopeless is a witty and punchy writer, Salvodor Larroca is an expressive artist, and this combination of characters gives the story a good lift. There were too many Marvel NOW! X-titles, but Cable and X-Force made a decent case for itself here.

Hit the Grounding Running folks. Cable is off on a MISSION
I'm still getting used to the World of Cable, and when this line up appeared it drew me in and I was not disappointed. This arc starts off in post AvX; Cable is back with visions of the near future buzzing in his head and he's off assembling a team. I found the mix interesting; Forge and Colossus have both had very troubled pasts of late and this was written in; Forge starts off a little unhinged and Peter is of course deeply troubled. Domino and Dr Nemesis supply their trademark humour- Domino with her `Ah What The Heck' attitude but always underlined with her own ethical take and Dr Nemesis wonderfully sardonic in his scientific pursuit. Cable of course is sticking to the MISSION (and making sure Hope is safe). Hope plays a major part but the theme with her is father/daughter and action hero in one set piece. The story in no way linear, so watch out for the `Now' `Earlier' captions in the top left of various pages as it flips from Past to Present to Future and back again (Well it would with a Cable story wouldn't it?). This device works well as it grabbed my attention as to What and Why of Cable's Mission.Basically two set-pieces one involving something similar to a techno-virus and the other with a devious play by a mutant-hating billionaire. The art work is clear, good representations of the characters and the action; dialogue is on the mark, running a good narrative which keeps you in the picture ; Hope manages to get a few snappy lines in amongst those of Domino & Dr NemesisGuest star appearances of Avengers; mostly Havoc, some useful additions to The Hope Story and a very quirky interlude involving Computer Games/Battlebots contest between Forge and Dr Nemesis. There is a build-up going on with someone with an agenda, hence the cause for at least one of the action pieces, and the ending sets up nicely for the next episode. I'll say no more lest I invoke Spoilers. If you are a fan of Cable, have been drawn into the post AvX world or like the quirkier side of the world of X-men then this is worth a read. I'll be going for the next edition

GOOD BUT ULTIMATLY DISAPOINTING
I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS DUE TO THE KICK ASS ROOSTER BUT I DUNNO IT KINDA LET ME DOWN, THE STORY FLOWS WELL ENOUGH BUT THE STORY LINE WASN'T QUITE EPIC ENOUGH FOR A CABLE SERIES, THAT WOULD BE MY MAIN COMPLAINT. ALSO THERE IS VERY LITTLE CHARTER DEVELOPMENT.
