No. You can use a butter knife to pop keys off.

Will these work on blue switches?

They should. Keep in mind clicky switches will still click internally, but this will change bottom out feel.

Will these fit around a plastic straw? i’m looking for something unnoticeable to help seal around my yeti straw & reusable straw -inside & outside lid

Yes it fits around my metal Waloo straw which I assume is the same diamater of a regular plastic straw.

Will this reduce the metal ping when pressing the key? Does this affect the travel distance significantly?

I thought it improved the sound when I had them on but it's not going to be a drastic change like lubing the switch will be. I'm guessing it';s spring ping that you are hearing and it won't be able to stop that. It gave a softer feel to the bottoming out as you hit this instead. They are pretty thin so it doesn't reduce the travel distance, but I didn't feel it was significantly. Depends on your sensitivity I guess.
