What's In Your Walls Matters
I live in an older house which has metal in the walls. Before purchasing this extender, it was near impossible to connect to the WiFi in the living room, in the front of the house. I still have less bars than I should on a fairly new phone but, it's better than it was.

Works but poor instructions and range not great
My main gripe is the very, very, poor instructions that made what should have been a simple installation process drag out over two days. Step two tells you to set something to recognize the extender but doesn't tell you what. The picture is so tiny is is of no use. They want you to go the screen of your phone or your computer and pretend you want to log into another wireless network. If you do not see the extender as an option, use the pin they provided to reset the extender and look again. This is not hard to explain but the instructions nearly totally do not tell you this. The only other issue is my computer once would stay on the internet and also connect to the extender but when I unplugged the extender and plugged it back in, it refused to connect to both devices. Repeatedly. So I connected my phone to the extender and did the other steps requiring web access with my computer (my phone never would connect to both devices). Some of you undoubtedly have better computers and/or phones and the process the instructions provide may work fine for you. But for me it would have been nice if the instructions would have suggested this if you have difficulty connecting to both the internet and the extender with one device. Once you complete the setup, this is not a problem. With respect to range I do not know on what universe this devices supports 8640 square feet but I think it has reasonable range for it's price but it didn't do everything I wanted it to do. My wifi router is at one end of my house and the coverage at the other end, on the second floor, was poor. So I got the extender and put it about halfway between on the first floor where the router is. It gets the signal upstairs to about half the less than 1000 square feet up there well but the signal is poor by the time you get less than 50 feet from the extender (and up a story). I have not used other extenders but my guess is this is basically what you can expect from one at this price point.I'm hoping my comments on the instructions inadequacy and what you need to do help somebody. I don't think it's a bad unit and seems worth the price. I just wish I had received halfway decent setup instructions. I wasted a lot of time trying other things.

Works well
Good size, very discrete in our hallway. The internet is wonky around our house and this seems to help.
