The Sunday Times Bestseller and Number 1 Sport Book of 2016 'A tale that's truly inspirational' The Sun An ordinary lad from Sheffield, Jamie Vardy has become known as an against-the-odds footballing hero the world over. Yet a few years ago, things couldn’t have been any more different. Rejected as a teenager by his boyhood club, Jamie thought his chance was gone. But from playing pub football and earning £30 a week at Stocksbridge Park Steels, while still working in a factory, his off-the-cuff performances saw him rise. Jamie had a wild and turbulent youth, but football became his saving grace and, once he filled his boots with goals at FC Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town, he moved to Leicester City. After the miracle of surviving relegation, the team of unlikely outsiders bonded together to achieve the unthinkable: Jamie set the record as the first player to score in 11 consecutive Premier League matches and Leicester beat odds of 5000-1 to become champions. Jamie has now been nominated for the Ballon d’Or, firmly establishing himself as one of England’s leading goal scoring footballers. Not forgetting his roots, however, he has set up the V9 Academy in a bid to find the next big talent from non-league football. Defying all expectations, this is the story of the boy from nowhere who reached the top in his own unflinching, honest words. Review: Great... - Really enjoyed reading it. He explained everything with ease and was very honest, and also a bit of comedy in it! Perfect! A player who has progressed so much over the past few years and has demonstrated to the world that you don't need to play in a BIG football academy your whole life and then at the age of 15-16-17 sign a big contract with a big club, but that if you keep your head high up during difficult times and you never give up, you can make it even if you play non-league at the age of 25. He seems to have a great family and even though he went through some problems with his parents he decided he could create his own family if they didn't want to fully accept him and his girlfriend/wife. Really funny guy who is just actually a normal bloke that likes to have a drink here and there and that does and did all the things we do. The photos were allso great and he made a great choice by chosing and describing the photos. Read it in one sitting. Even though I support Spurs and I rarely read other clubs footballers autobiographies I decided to give it a goand was very surprised and happy with it. Cheers Vards!!! Really reccomend to every football fan. Review: Great book - Pretty inspiring story about a man who almost gave up on his dreams and went onto achieve them all

Enjoyed from beginning to end
A very easy read. The book follows Jamie’s life from academy reject to non league to playing professional, winning the Premier League and representing England. Despite not being a fan of any of the clubs he has represented I enjoyed reading his journey up the football ladder. Very open and very honest with plenty of stories of nights out with a few scraps along the way, it reminded me of players a whole generation before the current modern footballer whom are perceived to be more professional than ever. However Jamie Vardy bucks the trend of the modern professional footballer not just in the way he “made it” but also how he behaved in his early years too. I found the book to be relatable to my early 20s. Jamie Vardy comes across as down to earth lad who achieved his dream the unconventional way and makes for a good read. Worth the money.

Excellent book and great sports underdog story!!
I bought this book for my son for Christmas because he needed a new book for school and is obsessed with football. He recently finished reading this book and said it is a great read; since then he has encouraged me to start reading it. We both loved Vardy's story and his rise to fame so it seemed a suitable book for us both. The book gives a great incite into his life and the struggles that he has faced. Vardy portrays a very honest story and also adds in some great humour.

Too much swearing
Bought this on kindle for my 8 year son who is football crazy and he downloaded it for a flight. The first page has a four letter swear word so I was very shocked, luckily he only whispered his dismay to me so no one else heard my son say it. That said it's not a children's book so I may be being over critical. My son did learn some good lessons from it I e hard work can make you successful so it's not a bad book from the stance

Fantastic read
Awesome rags to riches story. Doesn't pull any punches and gives an honest insight into the lives of one of England's sporting legends. Especially recommended for Wednesday fans like me, as much as it hurts to admit we threw away a diamond. Also for sports fans the world over, especially after the Leicester fairytale! Addictive reading, smashed it out in a day on holiday and was left wanting more.

Great story! Very easy reading
Bought this as an 'easy reader' for a holiday and bashed through it in a few days. Great story and written with humor and the inside stories you would expect from a footballers autobiography. Would recommend!

Jamie Vardy: From Nowhere, My Story [Lingua inglese]

Well worth a read.
I only bought this book for my husband as an add on sale but knew he admired Jamie Vardy as a player. He read it in a day, he couldn’t put it down and found it very interesting, funny with a human touch. Very enlightening book!
