I used to have an old-fashioned jar opener similar to this one. It was probably from the 1950s and something I had found at a garage sale years ago. I absolutely loved it, but over time it finally wore out. I have fibromyalgia in my hands, and sometimes it’s very hard for me to open jars or bottles. Some days it’s even difficult just to hold onto things, so when my old opener quit working, I honestly panicked wondering what I was going to do. I’ve tried those rubber grip cloth things you put over lids, but they just never worked well for me. Then I saw this and thought I’d give it a try. Oh my goodness — this thing is the next best thing since buttered bread! It works so well. It opens all different kinds and sizes of jars and bottles with very little effort. It has made such a huge difference for my hands. I am so thankful I found it. The quality is also excellent. It feels sturdy, well made, and not flimsy or cheap at all. On top of that, the price was fantastic. If you have arthritis, fibromyalgia like I do, weak hands, or just struggle opening things, you truly need one of these. Trust me, it will become your best friend in the kitchen. Thank you so much for making such a wonderful product!

Used it only once but it’s a winner! Super easy to use and easily opened a salad dressing bottle that would have had to go back into the pantry until someone came over that had more muscle and no arthritis in their hands. Yes I recommend.

I cannot believe how well this works. I thought it might be a waste of money. I was wrong. Jars are very tight, with a good grip it comes right off. No more hurting your hands or getting something to bang on the lid to get it open. Seems very durable. Nice and thick for the good grip. I've used each of the bottle sizes and they all work perfect.

This has been GREAT for my grandma with RA. It’s portable, durable & works fairly well for poor hand strength! When she is having a flare up, she does struggle to grip & turn the tool, but still is able to use it.

Good jar cap opener. I like the size options and watched customer videos to see it working. It's good help for my sprained thumb guessing hurt from straining at jar lids. Flimsy round pads are not effective and heating jar lids with hot water, banging lids with spoon handles. I tried to make my own jar opener with metal parts, but not effective enough. I'm wearing a thumb support recently ordered from Amazon, and hurt thumb again trying to open a stubborn jar cap to order the Otstar Opener. As soon as it was delivered, I tested it to work well on screwed on caps, but not push down safety caps/lids like on supplement jar in attached photos. To show jar lid in second photo, I propped up new opener with an empty jar. (Corrected misspelled rund to round).

I bought this almost 2 years ago and have tried to use it ever since but it was not a good purchase for me. It requires strength I don’t have in my arthritic wrists, is awkward, bulky and takes up too much drawer space so is headed for the donation bin. I have better luck (but struggle unsuccessfully most of the time) with a little rubber mat. (I believe they have modified the design a bit since my purchase but that wouldn’t solve the intrinsic problem). Before I moved I had a metal V shaped device with little teeth that mounted under my cabinet which could handle pretty much anything from very small to quite large. The difference is it doesn’t require squeezing AND twisting. Mine was the super simple variety (found on an arthritic supplies website but also offered on Amazon). If I didn’t live in an apartment now that doesn’t allow installing things I’d go back to that in an instant.

This little gizmo WORKS! I'm old, and my grip isn't what it used to be. I drink tea in 20 oz. bottles, and have come to the point of having to get someone to open them for me. This works. I can easily open them with this. The ability to open pop top cans also became soooo much easier. I would recommend this highly! 10 stars!!!!

This opener device was recommended to me by the hand therapist I am currently seeing. What a wonderful took for removing caps. It's actually quite well made, as a grippy silicone ring inside those cutouts that gets hold of the bottle cap and allows you to twist without hand and wrist pain. Even for someone who may not have strong hands and needs a little extra help, this is a great tool. It washed up easily, wipes off with a wet cloth but will go through the dishwasher just fine. My husband is using it now too because of arthritic hands and it's been a real help for us both.

Finally got to use this the other day, does exactly what you’d expect it to do, took the strain out of opening a bottle of tomato sauce. Did the job, wish I’d bought on ages ago.

I used it many times for medicine bottles where it would extremely tight once you try to open after a week. It is amazing, no pain but gain.
