Airchecker Air Pressure Gauge with Dual Head

Really good pressure gauge from SKS I trust this for my race bikes and car. Easy to use and nice ergonomic design. No air leak and easy to reduce pressure if needed. Multiple measurement types. So far very durable as expected from SKS. Tested against other gauges and proven to be consistent.

This is a good buy - especially if you check tyres with both Shrader and Presta valves. Easy to work. Adjustable head is a great innovation n tight spots (e.g., bike spokes). Does tend to auto-shutoff quickly, but otherwise works well and is very accurate.

Saw some reviews where this is one of the more accurate air pressure gauges. Really easy to use for bike tyre pressure and for functionality. Easy to store as well in a essentials bag or backpack. If you are out on the trails this is a good investment to make sure you have consistent pressure for specific terrain. I used a floor pump for pressure gauge but quickly realised it was not accurate.

Exactly what you need if you want to be more precise on your tyre pressures. Really highlighted the inaccuracy of my track pump. Would recommend

Does what it says on the tin (box). It's very quick to register the pressure. Clear and easy to read. Switching between Bar and Psi is easy but hold the button too long or press too often and it gets confused. Only super minor gripe is it doesn't do Kpa, which I knew when I bought it, but then I see 'Kpa' flash up when I turn it on... Surely they could've included Kpa (I like Kpa for the cars, Psi for my bikes).

The most popular Presta pressure gauge is almost certainly the Topeak Smart Digital D2 gauge. This SKS gauge is easily as good or better than the Topeak one. It is nice in the hand (more slender and grippy rubber edges), backlit display and the buttons are more simple and easier to use in my opinion. I've owned 3 or 4 Topeak D2 gauges and two of them have been faulty from new, so I think the quality of Topeak isn't always on the ball.

Bin begeistert, genau das, was ich gesucht hatte. Passt auf SV Presta (Sclaverand) und AV Schrader (Autoventil). Kopf drehbar. Kleiner Knopf am Kopf integriert um Druck abzulassen. Zeigt den Wert in bar oder PSI an, bis zur zweiten Nachkommastelle. Sehr wiederholgenau. Zeigt beim Auto die gleichen Werte an wie das Bordsystem. Funktioniert auch am Fahrrad tip top. Gewohnt gute SKS Qualität. Man drückt das Gerät auf das Ventil, nach ca 1-2 Sekunden ertönt ein deutlicher Piepton und der Druck ist im Display erfasst. Display gut ablesbar mit permanenter Hintergrundbeleuchtung in orange. Wert wird in der Anzeige gehalten. Gerät schaltet dann automatisch nach kurzer Zeit ab. Alles sehr intuitiv, genau so wie man es sich wünscht.

When the valve fits its great. However, there are too many problems with certain valves (I only use presta-style valves - and yes I read the manual carefully and looked at videos on how to use correctly which is a must to avoid certain mistakes). Manual could be a lot better and the one on their home page is outdated (seriously?). Long live youtube!

This review is not so much a review of a pressure gauge, but a comparison of three different gauges that I purchased on Amazon. They are all fine products, but the reason that I purchased three different gauges is to find which gauge would be best for my intended use. I am an avid cyclist (on a road bike) and lately it seems that the tire pressure in your bicycle’s tires could have an impact on your cycling performance. That may seem like an obvious statement, but over the years it was considered that the tires should be pumped up to as high a pressure as the tires could reasonably take. The thought being that this hardness would provide the least rolling resistance. However, lab tests have shown this to be not true. The “ideal” pressure depends on several factors such as tire dimensions, weight of rider and bicycle, and road surface, etc. So, for me to get the “ideal” tire pressure for my situation I would need a decent pressure gauge to work on my tire’s Presta valve. I started by purchasing the JACO RDX-160. This is an extremely rugged appearing gauge. Maybe more suited for mountain bikes (or Jeeps?). I had issues while using this gauge. The pressure inlet (where the valve is inserted) is quite deep at 18.74 mm (0.74 inches). So, getting the valve in far enough to get a good reading was challenging. And using the bleeder valve on the gauge (to release some air from an over inflated tire) was really hit or miss. My next purchase was the Topeak SmartGauge D2X Digital Pressure Gauge. This gauge has some very good features, so I had high hopes. One feature is that it can be used with both Presta and Shrader valves just by flipping a small lever. Unfortunately, this dual-purpose inlet didn’t work all that well for Presta valves. It was difficult to get a good seal, prohibiting an accurate reading. My third purchase was for the SKS Germany Airchecker Digital Pressure Gauge. This gauge has a separate air inlet for Presta and Schrader. The digital display is clear. You can select pressure readings in BAR or PSI, and the bleeder valve is excellent. This is now my “go to” pressure gauge for accurately setting the tire pressure on my road bike. One caveat though…while this gauge was designed by SKS in Germany, the gauge itself is made in China.
