Simple and effective solution for outdoor sensors
Bought a weather station from China that came with 3 sensors but I was struggling to find a decent spot in the garden for one of them. My AI assistant actually recommended this specific model so I gave it a go. Did have a look at some others but they were either double the price or the wait time was just too long. This is a pretty universal case I'd say, should fit practically most sensors out there. In the kit you get some double sided velcro patches to stick the sensor inside, then two fairly long zip ties and screws so you have a choice on how to mount the case itself. Honestly it's all very simple, took me no longer than 5 mins to get it all sorted. Happy to recommend this to others as well.

Works well, easy to mount, looks ok
Does the job, quite well. It allows sufficient airflow to permit rapid temperature/humidity changes to be recorded. Keeps the sun, rain and wind off the sensor. I attached mine to a downpipe with zip-ties, it seems to be secure enough though it only needs a quick twist to release the base. It's fine, for the price.

Great for Ecowitt thermo-hygro and lightning sensors
Bought two of these for use with my Ecowitt WH31 and WH57 themo-hygro and lightning sensors for outside use and they both fit a treat with plenty of room to spare. The unit comes in three parts: 1) the wall/shed mounting bracket. 2) the circular outer protective casing 3) the bayonet-lock base which contains the sensor mounting post. There are two modes of fixing supplied: 4 screws and wall plugs for the wall or shed mount and two cable ties for affixing to a pole. Fixing the sensor inside the case is easy: first, unscrew the base from the outer case by a 1/8th of a turn clockwise (looking from bottom) and free the base from the three locking lugs. Mount the sensor on the base by using either the supplied piece of Velcro attached to the vertical post inside the case and the back of the sensor or by wrapping a small cable tie (also supplied) fairly tightly around the aforementioned vertical post and sensor. I went for the Velcro method. Then, simply lift the base up to the outer case, align the three holes on the base with the lugs on the underside of the case and twist anti-clockwise (looking from underneath) to lock the base holding the sensor in place. The thermometer does read about 1.5C high when strong sun is directly on it, but the lightning detector works fine (well, after I set the DIP switches correctly that is!) Two things to be aware of: 1) the internal diameter of the case is only just over 60mm, so check the width of your sensors before buying. 2) the wall/shed mount requires the case body to be slid down over the mount, so around 200mm of space is required above the mounting bracket in order to slide the sensor case down in place onto the mount. Overall, a decent quality case that seems to work well, but perhaps a little narrow for sensors over 60mm wide and 160mm tall.

Temperature sensor protective case
Thank you this item is great! No problem fixing the temperature sensor in protective case. I feel much better knowing the device is hopefully going to be okay. It seems to be doing what is made for. Many thanks cheers.

Great quality item. Ideal for a Netatmo met sensor
Great quality item indeed. Idea for putting a netatmo weather sensor inside of them. Fits the Netatmo Smart Home Weather Station sensors perfectly. You can even make it fit the indoor module of the Netatmo Smart Home Weather Station by getting a right angle power cable and cutting a small hole in the bottom of this housing to pass the cable through. Would highly recommend this if you have a Netatmo Smart Home Weather Station sensor. Much much cheaper than the offical Netatmo cover.

Does the job brilliantly!
So easy to fix the sensor inside and various ways of mounting the unit to the wall/pole. Makes such a difference to the readings taken outside. Really pleased with it.

Works as specified
Note that this is more a protective screen rather than a proper radiation shield. It provides cover against direct rain onto sensors and reduces heat effects from solar light. However, it is advised to be used in good shadow conditions where there is less sunlight. For more effective solar light protection Stevenson screen boxes or more elaborate radiations shields are to be used. These however will cost more. Generally the constructions is good easy to fit sensors in it and easy to mount it at posts or walls.I would advise manufacturers to produce a more elaborate next version with wider and thicker slats so there is shielding against the heat from sunlight or reflected light.

Offers great protection but..
Compared with other instrument shields out there around the same price this does a good job. The shield is a bit narrow so bare in mind if you your sensor is wide. For a few hours in the morning when in diect sunlight I found that the sensor temperature was about 1 or 2 degrees out. I painted the outside of the sensor with white gloss paint and I found this reduced the inaccuracy to about 0.5 degrees which is fine for me. Does a good job protecting sensor from rain. Overall very pleased but like others in this range a bit overpriced.

I purchased two of them and they have been protecting the external transmitter units for about 3 years, without problems. The transmitter units are well protected from dirt, rain and snow. However, they won't insulate the transmitters from direct sunlight. When sunlight directly hits the protective covers, the measured external temperature will hit the roof. To avoid that, the covers should be installed at places that are not under direct sunlight. The plastic cover also invariably ages with the ever-changing weather conditions and therefore becomes harder and more brittle. I guess, they will have to be replaced after some time. But, after 3 years of permanent use, the covers are still fully operational. I would buy these again when time comes to have them replaced.
