What is the scope height distance?

i've never heard referance to that before.  let me tell you what i know.  scope rings are designed to set a certain distance above the brl of the gun.  this is referred to as low profile or high profile.  the lower the scope is to the brl the more stable and accuarete it is.  when you go to high profile rings, it is usually because the diameter of the scope  (at the front end) "furthest from your eye" is large.  44, 50mm or larger (usually).  high profile rings start around 1" high.  if your looking to buy a scope then get one that has an illuminated reticle red and green.  you can shoot in low light or at night with these.  often you can see your target but not the crosshairs on the target.  i prefer a mildot illuminated reticle.  get an adjustable power like a 4x16x40 or a 6x14x40.  look at leapers, bushnell and simnons brands.  check out sportmans guide, natchez and an online company webby optics.  leapers is a chinese scope that is under $80 and is bright and clear.  bushnell has scopes ove $200 and so does simmons.  leopuld is 2-3x the price.  consider the caliber that is being shot and go with leapers if your shooting anything 7.62x39 or smaller.

will these rings fit on a rubber armored fixed 6x power leapers scope?

I can't confirm for this specific scope, but these rings worked fine on an armored 3-9x32 NCStar AR scope with a 1" tube.  I had no trouble with these rings on any scope with a 1" tube.  For best results, use a gun vise and try to get the top mount as even as possible before tightening down.

Will these rings allow me to use the iron sights on a m1a scout squad?

will this ring fit on  a nikon pro staff scope?

John,There are two sizes of rings sold.  The first is the 1 inch ring (25.4 mm), which fits most scopes made in the US and many of those made to be sold in the US.  The second type rings is the 30 mm (1.18 in), which is designed for many European scopes and some US -made scopes with a 30 mm tube.  It sounds like you were shipped a set of 30 mm rings originally.
