I have a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning (5.5 foot bed), and needed a dry, secure solution that worked well with the power lift gate. I found another F-150 Lightning owner recommended this product, so I gave it a try. Almost 3 months later, I'm very happy with my decision. The biggest weakness is the instruction manual. It's poorly written and difficult to understand what it wants you to do at some points. I watched a few youtube videos of this and similar products to get a better understanding of how it's supposed to go together. You should also have two people when installing since it is too large and heavy when assembled for one person to lift. It also helps to have a second person when making fit adjustments (for those with power lift gates), since you want it to be as loose as possible against the tailgate while still providing a good weather seal. The bed cover was very nicely packaged and came with no damage, and no missing parts. Installation requires no drilling, except through two plastic plugs for the drainage tubes to pass through. They include the drill bits too. If you don't want to drill you can just pop out the plastic plugs, but drilling gave it a clearner look. I opted to not install the side clamps on my short bed and relied only on the four box link attachment points (you can still mount the box link plates on top of the provided hardware). If you ever decided to use the rail feature, you would proabably want these side clamps, though. Once installed, I found the product has very good build quality, and good fit and finish. It effectively secures the bed and keeps the inside dry. I found it self-retracts even in the winter with a little snow on top (my biggest concern was how it will do in the winter, and I'm happy to say it does well). It has settings to allow it to open part way or all the way. There's a long tether so you don't have to climb into the truck to close the cover. Best of all, the power rear tailgate still closes with this bed cover, you just have to make the necessary adjustments after installation. Customer service also appears to be on the ball, is responsive, and helpful. Overall, I'm happy with my decision. The bed cover looks and functions great.

So, where to begin? This was definitely an interesting install and it almost became overwhelming. If this is your first retractable Tonneau cover, as soon as you open the box and read the instructions all the way through, then watch the INSTALLATION VIDEO in the description. The set of instructions I received was apparently the old set and a new one was being processed, but where the print falls short, the video helps clarify it. The biggest thing I struggled with was which bed-mounted support went where. I immediately contacted customer service and they responded with a few hours. And through some back and forth messages, which were responded quickly each time, I was able to figure continue. There are two styles and the printed directions are very difficult to understand which went in the front and and which in the rear. As far as left and right, that is easily discernible as they labeled them “L” and “R” respectively. Maybe label them “LF” for ‘Left Front’ and so on? Either way, once you get passed that, it was pretty simple other than closing the tailgate. The first install wouldn’t allow my tailgate to auto close, meaning it’s an assisted up/down tailgate. It would hit the bed cover and go back down. Again, I contacted customer support, responding with a few hours, and recommended I try adjusting the rear mounting brackets upwards a little, which honestly makes sense, doh!, and it worked perfectly! All in all, I’m really impressed with the cover, it slides well, covers well and looks great! Another change I would make is to make the locking mechanism auto catch in the closed position. At present, you have to turn a knob in order for the latches to catch for the cover to stay in the closed position. I would still recommend this cover! Can’t beat the price or the quality of the material and they have FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! Which I feel is a declining trade now a days. Just buy it, read/watch the instructions and you too can have a great Tonneau Cover!

It took me about 3–4 hours to install it by myself. If you’re comfortable with tools, you shouldn’t have any problems with the installation. Watch the video and follow along the instruction manual. I wanted to build it and not have to adjust or retrace my steps so take your time and do it right. My truck has Ford’s drop-in bed liner and did not have pre-drilled holes, so I had to drill the necessary holes and cut out a slightly larger square around the tie-down anchors to accommodate the side mounts for the bed cover. Other than that, the installation was pretty straightforward. It would be even easier if you have a spray-in bed liner. My biggest concern when buying a bed cover was how well it would keep water out, and this cover has exceeded my expectations. We’ve had heavy thunderstorms almost every day for the past two weeks, and the bed has stayed completely dry. The cover feels very well-built. Designed to last a long time, especially with proper maintenance. Retracts with ease and It looks great, works exactly as it should, and I have zero complaints. Definitely recommend this cover!

I bought the Bestwyll retractable cover for my F150. It was by far the best deal for a retractable bed cover. Some reviews said the directions aren’t clear. I’d say that’s somewhat true but if you watch a video of it being assembled you’ll be fine. I put it together and installed it by myself in about an hour and a half. It fits perfectly, works great, and looks awesome. I’m very happy with the purchase and would recommend it for anyone looking for a cover for their truck bed. One thing to note, I used the brackets that attached to the attachment points in my truck bed. You’ll have to buy those self-tapping screws separately. And I needed to use my hammer drill to get those screws in. But once that was complete the cover was rock solid.

I love this tonneau cover. If I might compare this cover to others I have owned? This is the third truck I have put a cover on. This one rides well and it keeps the water out. I drove through a car wash today and I was so impressed at how well it kept the bed of my pickup dry. I'm not even kidding. This cover performed flawlessly. As long as you take the time to make sure you line up the sides and the canister properly you will have the same results as I have. And the most amazing part to me is that this cover is a third of the price. It really brings into question why some of the other companies get away with selling similar products for such a crazy price. This one closes and retracts so smooth. In fact, I was really blown away by how effortless the retracting function is. I know that the other 2 I have put on other trucks leaked way more than this one. None of them are going to be airtight but this one is darned close. If you wish to pay 3 times more for equal or similar value, be my guest but as for me I choose this as the superior choice. The only thing I like better than my new cover is the superior level of customer service. They emailed a better set of instructions to me days before it even arrived and that simplified the instructions by a large margin. You wont go wrong with this cover as long as you take your time and make sure you get everything lined up properly. Install for me took 53 minutes from the time I opened the box thill I closed my tailgate.

The cover I would rate five star, but the instructions are terrible, the video instructions are some better but leave a lot to be desired. I was able to get it installed in about 2 hours but with better instructions it probably would have taken 1 hour, The next reason for only 3 stars is customer service, I had trouble with the lock and sent an email to the service department about that, they wanted a video of me pushing the unlock button, when I questioned that they did not respond anymore and have not responded after 2 days so I just assume they do not care. The cover looks good and I figured out the lock so I am happy with my purchase. I would like to amend my review, after several emails from Tony at Bestwyll service my problem was resolved and I should have given him more time to respond, it was my fault that the issue with the lock took an extra day to resolve. He also said they were updating the instruction manual which was great to hear. So I recommend buying this cover you will not be disappointed.

This cover is mostly 'as advertised'. It does function well, and as others stated, the instructions are a bit vague. The only problem is the locking mechanism works different from the way it is online. I was under the impression that the strap dissengages the lock as it pulls. This way, as you are closing the cover, you can stop it half way. Then, when you continue to pull it closed, the lock will engage automatically. I have found that you have to turn the knob on the underside of the cover to engage the lock. Because of this, the only way to lock the cover closed is to open the tailgate to turn the knob. This is not a 'dealbreaker', just a little annoying. Also, there is a small red button on the underside of the cover. It is unclear what that is for, or what it does. There is nothing in the instructions, or in the online videos that tells me. Other than this, the product works very well.

Takes a bit to assemble and install but seems to be an awesome product!!

Have had lots of covers over the years in my truck but this one by far is the best. Takes a little time to install, but once on was Best cover I've ever had!!!!!!!
